Kaos- You might have been told to finish jobs, but was that by the person giving you the jobs in first place? If so, we (AAU) are now that person, if not, then you need to plan ahead, otherwise you might find you don't have a next job when you finish the one your on! Just a thought. ?

Plas, you make it sound like they are going to mothball Salinbas in favour of Dokwe! Why do you think that this will affect what happens at Salinbas? Can't see SSR at Hot Madan spending £350m on mine there and saying 'here you go guys you want to put your ore through here, we will leave ours in ground for a while' We are a minority share holder there and will have little to say on how it develops, yes it will be developed, but on JV term and time scales, not ours. And that's not a bad thing, as discussed there are good reasons not to rush headlong into that one, and waiting for others to show a clear path first is one of them.

Correct, the production rate may be higher than 60k oz pa after they've completed further drilling. Could be 120k pa, but we won't know for a while.

SP Angel this morning:-Ariana Resources (AAU LN) 2.55p, Mkt Cap £28.7m – PFS economics of the Dokwe ProjectAriana Resources has released interim economic information on the revised pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the 1.3moz Dokwe gold project in Zimbabwe.Dokwe is owned by Rockover Holdings which is the subject of a conditional all share merger with Ariana Resources which would leave Ariana Resources' shareholders holding ~62.5% of the enlarged company.Today's announcement says that over a 13-year mine-life the development of the Dokwe North project would produce an average of 60,000oz of gold annually at an all-in sustaining cost of US$1,144/oz by processing 1.5mtpa of ore from an open pit mine feeding a CIL plant.Peak capital funding requirement is expected to be US$82m.The project generates an after tax NPV10% of US$160m and an IRR of 41% at a gold price of US$2,000/oz.Managing Director, Dr. Kerim Sener, confirmed that "the revised PFS only includes the Dokwe North area and there is significant scope to enhance the economics further if Dokwe Central is included".Dr. Sener said that Ariana Resources is working "hard to expand the opportunity at Dokwe ... [and anticipates] ... positive developments through further project optimisation of the Dokwe Project, which require ongoing assessment".Conclusion: The economics of the Dokwe North gold project in Zimbabwe provide the opportunity for Ariana Resources to evolve into a mid-tier gold producer following the merger with Rockover Resources which is expected to be completed by the end of June.

I don't know Charles, it will be whatever it is when it is decided what portion Proccea are in for and maybe Ozaltin.
What I sincerely hope won't happen is another incestuous third party (a Zenit Zimbabwe for want of a better name) where Ariana will be paid a dividend from production (eventually) and it looks like Ariana are doing all the heavy lifting on the exploration front as it was before Kiz commenced.

We should be pushing forward Dokwe and Salinbas at the same time. Ozaltin can take care of Salinbas.

We have two mines on the go (nearly) we should be developing the next projects together. A race to the finish - wouldn't that be good. They have done all prep work - they just eed to move them all forward.

Isn't that the point of having partners.

Soul -you say production from Dokwe won't be 60k? So what do you think it will be?

Trevor - I may be wrong but more and more countries are stockpiling gold and planning to use it as part of their currencies as a stabilising measure. Even the UK is buying it despite Gordon Brown's massive sell-off between 1999 and 2002. Gold is now a much sought after commodity so i think it unlikely it will drop back to $1800-$1900/oz.

Plasybryn, there is more risk - true. Salinbas and all the current production is still there though keeping the company safe. Gotta be in it to win it mate!

60k oz pa net to AAU from Dokwe as things stand today, compared to bits n pieces from all other operations combined at the bequest of the majority holders.

Dokwe puts AAU on the map.

I like many on here are still undecided
Also like many of you think the board needs at least someone who is better at getting the message across ( every time we have an announcement the price per share drops, hate to see what would happen if it was a bad news announcement ).
What do people think of the cost per oz to produce, double what our current gold costs are.not a problem now maybe but who's to say gold won't retreat to say 15-1800 $ per oz

Not much more than Salinbas which i have heard verbally in the past might be capable of 100,000 ozs pa. And perhaps we could use the mine processing plant that SSR are building for Hot Maden. Lower cost, less dilution, well researched asset and possibly quicker to cash flow.£4m in the Ozaltin fund still to accelerate the resource/reserve upgrade and move to a PFS. Scoping Study already in place. Using our established partners. Not sure AAU have convinced me this isn't a preferable route forward.

"Several potential exploration opportunities to increase the Resource have been identified at Dokwe North and Dokwe Central, and across the wider area."

The wider area includes Dokwe south which looked very very interesting to me.

Well that is a very good start. I believe on top of this we should see (at some point) a further resource upgrade and and a pit optimisation strategy that encompasses Dokwe Central. 2.7 year PB wore case so we might even attract some debt funding on good terms. Looking even better.

If one reads the new PFS has some up reserves left untouched. As they did had not enough time to do it all.

They basically changed the simple spread sheet inputs like discount rate and POG.

but some metrics could be easily driven up too imho.

Also JORC is old and has huge room for improvement.

I have been reading all the commentary of the last week or so. The latest RNS convinces me that this is a worthwhile project in terms of size, value accretion, execution risk etc.

Bringing in Proceea seems like a good move that should reduce execution risk.

I would prefer a balance of debt and investment. Keeping more for ourselves. But let’s face it we need financial and earth moving help to deliver.

Other risks relate to the AAU style and their moving forward of the various projects. And country risk.

This latest RNS convinces me the deal is worth doing on balance. But it is higher risks as a result of this.

I think Ozaltin need to be seen to moving Turkey forward aggressively before we give them more.

The remaining small projects can be sold off for me.

Isnt it about 4x AAU's quarter of other ops?

It is only the starting point.
