I am very pleased with this deal. AAU has been churning out the RNSs and this is as near term as we could hope for to creating value. Well done

I have not rebalanced my shareholding yet. This damn share price is a bit of downer on that. At some point this will turn north again. I am not predicting what the catalyst will be. Maybe this is the one.

BB you playing the advocate ;) - if you want to of course

- where is the economic cut off? is Apliki not on the border and can easily drop into negative?

- if it is so good - I would like to have more of it holding it directly - if it is no good - why bother.

- Venus will be the operator - and experienced mining Co will be JV partner

- I think they "bought" mining knowledge and structure - but how come - the new partner will not be the operator

- my experience is that in complicated systems many things get lost (profit margin included) and are difficult and expensive to run

You'd have to assume it's lower than that quoted.

You will reap benefit through AAU with less risk due to their other projects imho. Obviously market needs to know about their exposure to Venus.

I am stupid so please for a further clarification:

AAU owns 37% and will be owning 50 % soon - and Venus has no money

Why did Venus with no money enter the JV - watering down the holding for the AAU shareholders by not going directly and "schlepping" the Venus Co owner with AAU money

Why AAU did not go directly - with its cash? Makes not much sense to me

it is getting a "gordian knot" this AAU story for my one brain cell

More good news - hope it doesn't have the usual effect on the share price.

On a more serious note, do people here think it is a good bet to buy shares in Venus when it is listed ?

Perhaps Mentor Demi, Kosovo, Western Tethyan Resources and Peter Van Deborgh should be on the Ariana board. They are increasingly playing a key role in the developing strategy. Not sure why Kerim doesn't give them more profile.

I think Kerim rates Peter. Peter van der BorghManaging DirectorPeter is a corporate geologist who has been instrumental in the discovery and development of greenfields and brownfields gold and base metals deposits in Australia, Ireland and Turkey. As Technical Director of ASX-listed African and South American focused uranium and specialty metals company Globe Uranium, Peter was instrumental in the discovery of the major Kanyika niobium deposit in Malawi.

can one please explain the difference between the 2 statements in 1 paragraph:

....Venus Minerals is the pre-eminent copper and gold exploration company operating on the island of Cyprus, with combined mineral resources of 9.5Mt @ 0.65% Cu

......which contains mineral resources of 10.4Mt @ 0.34% Cu

why the difference? why huge grade difference on app the same Mt data?

was not 0,39% economic cut off grade? if not - what would it be?

I am as per usual completely lost in space and time

PS: what does the word pre-eminent mean and why the use of it lol

This looks like a contender, local company using Hydrometallurgical production for the copper and heap leach for gold. They must think this is going to be profitable. It's nice to see the company being floated with a mine plan and not just a resource.http://hcm.com.cy/site/about-hcm

And there's Venus resource with a bow on it for the new JV partner. KS said Cyprus would be the next value accretive project. The strategy of using ones expertise to find gold and copper then getting others to mine and pay for it is genius in my book. It's like a royalty on steroids and I think we can clearly see a path to the £500m market cap KS alluded to. Although I thought that may be pushing it. Obviously he's looking at many more projects like this. Similar model to a franchise if it works repeat it over and over again.
