KAV

Some nice words in the morning note from the highly respected mining analyst John Meyer at share price Angel ref: LSE:KAV / www.kavangoresources.com /Tw*tt*r = #KAV

Kavango Resources (KAV LN) 3.6p, Mkt Cap £5.7m – Laws of probability to be rewritten after Kavango strikes mineralisation in first and second drill holes under Karoo sand in Botswana

Kavango, which is exploring for a large-scale bushveld igneous-type mineralisation reports results from a second drill hole in Botswana.

The team which are highly experienced in the geology of the region have used geophysical data and remote sensing to establish drilling locations.

Remarkably, the first drill hole hit mineralisation under the sandy Karoo sediments
Even more remarkably the second drill hole is reported to have also hit mineralisation including copper in chalcopyrite with a 1.5% XRF gun reading. X-Ray Frequency gun readings are not considered to be reliable due to their potential for miss-reporting but we do place some value on the readings when in the honorable hands of Messrs. Foster and Moles.

The first drill hole hit a 200m zone of intensely altered rock with indicative cobalt values of up to 0.9%, averaging 0.2% cobalt and >70m of elevated copper, zinc, lead and nickel values.

Conclusion: Kavango is worth watching and we await results from drill core assays. While we never doubted the skill of the geological team we are surprised and impressed to see two sets of mineralised results in so short a time frame. Well done team!

Markets don't like any timescales missed so why have them? as long as they are doing best endeavours that's good enough for me.

Biggles: I think there are a few hurdles on Tavsan before funding is sort.
1. New Reserve study update. Extend Life of Mine beyond 4 years.
2. EIA permit leading to Internal Feasibility Study to be undertaken by Zenit late 2019
3. The Bank Finance will follow, probably sometime in 2020.
I might be wrong, but that is my understanding.
Great shame the Co. no longer give us the Gantt chart showing expected timings. Frightened to get it wrong isn't a good excuse imo.

3p everyday of week. Tarsvan funding confirmation by the bank would be a nice filet which no ones touched upon.

Biggles, Plas - I think the price could actually go even higher than 2.5p, maybe even 3p on good drill results and good production figures. But as always, beware the pull back. 2.5p+ would be a good place to be in preparation for this year's Salinbas results. imho it deserves to be there even without them!

I think you're right Biggles, but with drill results from Kizilcukur and Salinbas expected before the end of next month, we could go even higher if they reveal something a bit beyond what is expected. Funny how suddenly everything is coming together. Quarterlies next week as well, followed by Annual Report & Accounts.

2.5p would be my guess pal

Looking forward to another great Ariana with Attitude week. As you say Biggles, a bit of press coverage at this point would be great. I'm sure they will want to expedite the Salinbas drill results so they are ready for the AGM. What price will we be by the time of the AGM at the end of June?

From Twitter... "We have encountered abundant sulphide mineralisation in the porphyry. XRF data will tell us what metals this is associated with, but not gold, as that is usually encountered in concentrations below the detection limit of the device."

Current drilling is a long way from the mine. Let's wait for some numbers.

imo The sample looks like crushed Ginguro These black silver bands are normally seen as thin or thick lines running through the quartz rocks. Ginguro so named after the famous Hishikari Japanese mine running averages of over 40gt AU and as high as over 100gt.
I brought a rock sample home with me which clealy shows these high grade lines ....very nice indeed.
So looking at this core sample imo there is Definitely good AU mineralisation here.
All looking very good indeed. All in MHO

It might be iron pyrite which is often found where gold is. I believe Kerim has previously stated that he has never found a gold nugget.

Just had a look at that pic again and that rock definitely has a blue grey tinge. When I was in the mine I was asked to point out the rock which contained gold I obviously chose the gold coloured rock and was told it wasn't it was the grey blue rock and that pic they have posted makes me very happy!!!

The gold colouring is sulphide mineralisation in the porphyry.

Not gold the gold comes out of the blue grey stuff. But the fact they have shown this is a positive !! Especially on second day

The pic shows "Abundant Sulphide mineralisation" apparently. So I guess that means that they're not nuggets, but it's "a good sign"...

Actually kav have also tweeted this week pictures of drill cores with gold looking streaks in them which they identify as chalcopyrite ... our mineralization could also be this or something similar but its more fun to assume its all gold .....

They can publish xrf results if they believe they are significant and want to give a heads up they are on the right track, kavango have recently been rnsing xrf results prior to assey results being available as they highlight the fact that the rationale for drilling was proven correctly.

Mineralisation as in minerals with which gold may be associated, IMO.Very unlikely to be visible gold. But remember that they'll be getting instant results/indications from handheld XRF, even if they're not allowed to publish them.
