Just a thought, but with Zenit now to pay us $$$$ for satellite areas I doubt there will have been any dividend payments coming Arianas way from that direction, short term negative, med/long term positive.

Isn't a lot of Salinbas a copper-gold porphry? I have a feeling the value of our assets there is increasing unrealised.

You are making assumptions Charles. I'm not selling, I sold some a number of months back that are now worth almost three times what they would be here, but I've resisted selling again recently (to my detriment I may add as they would also be worth plenty more today if I'd moved them).I am simply adding the counter view to Biggles comment around not understanding selling, because I can understand it. Doesn't mean I am selling again myself.

Keep selling Kirbs and I will be waiting to hoover up behind you. Yes there are lots of other opportunities out there but how much cash are they going to need to get to production and how long will it take for them to build their mines? There's a lot of money going into 'great prospects' at the moment without much thought about the long road ahead. At least we've walked that road already and gained experience and knowledge along the way. And we have enough cash to fund ourselves without going to the money lending institutions to be robbed blind. There's a lot to be said for that. The hard work is done, patience is all that's required now.

Yes agree, but you have to factor peoples opinion of what "imminent" means here, because this deal has been imminent for 12 months. Question isn't whether you believe there is value here, it's whether you believe it will be realised before your other options.

"Beyond these resource development areas, Venus has the rights to 105km(2) of highly prospective tenure across the island. A percussion drilling programme focused on several new exploration targets across this portfolio is due to commence imminently. Meanwhile planning for a diamond drilling programme on the Magellan Project resource area is underway following the completion of this Mineral Resource Estimate.

Plenty of Copper news imminent here!

Given Fridays are typically no news days here, it's the end of another week with no circular, copper in fashion and several better short term options out there if this isn't going to be announced in 2020. Can't really blame people for thinking it won't be imo.

Ariana's various gold assets and the pending deal are what they are, and I am content to patently wait for their fruition. Salinbas apart I am currently more interested in the various copper assets, in particular Cyprus and any other future assets we buy into. Looking forward to learn what the company plans are to monetise these, now that some i the business are saying you will need a telescope to see the copper price in a few years."

Maybe we are getting excited about the wrong colour of metal. {Cypress}

LONDON — Analysts at Goldman Sachs believe copper prices could soon test their existing record highs, saying the bull run for the industrial metal is now “fully underway.”

Copper prices on Tuesday rose to their highest level since March 2013, touching $7,719 per metric ton following stronger-than-anticipated manufacturing activity in China and South Korea.

The metal has since pared gains, with three-month copper futures on the London Metal Exchange last seen trading at $7,626 per metric ton.

Copper, which is used in everything from power to construction, has risen more than 22% this year, on pace for its best year since 2017. Prices have been boosted by supply disruptions, hopes for “green” economic stimulus and China’s swift recovery from the coronavirus crisis.

“The bull market for copper is now fully underway with prices up 50% from the 2020 lows, reaching their highest level since 2017,” Goldman Sachs analysts said in a research note Monday.

“This current price strength is not an irrational aberration, rather we view it as the first leg of a structural bull market in copper.”

‘Some way from its limit’

Goldman analysts raised their 12-month forecast for copper to $9,500 per metric ton, up from a previous estimate of $7,500.

The Wall Street bank said it now expects a sustained, higher average price for 2021 and 2022. It has estimated copper prices will average around $8,625 next year, before climbing to an average of $9,175 in 2022.

By the first half of 2022, Goldman analysts said, it is “highly probable” copper would test the existing record highs of $10,170 set in 2011.

The bullish prediction comes at a time when investors are increasingly optimistic over coronavirus vaccines.

It is hoped a safe and effective coronavirus vaccine could help bring an end to the Covid pandemic that has claimed over 1.48 million lives worldwide and wiped out a chunk of the global economy.

In addition to vaccine hopes, a weaker U.S. dollar has lent further support to copper prices in recent months. Copper prices had slumped to $4,600 per metric ton in March.

Analysts at Goldman cautioned that copper’s path to $10,000 would not be without its hurdles, citing a seasonal slowdown in demand and several periods of price consolidation among other factors.

However, the investment bank believes the speculative length in the rally is still “some way from its limit,” adding that significantly higher copper prices would be needed to incentivize new supply and help balance the market over the coming months.

I'm not saying they issued because of the posts but I know they listen. I feel the next leg of this companies evolvement is literally weeks away and if you take a step back at the various facets you can only admire the job the board have done. You look at Cyprus , salinbas tarsvan the JV cash cow the dividend the surplus cash to explore its a marvellous foundation.
