Indeed I was Kirbs but only for a short time and then again in protest at the treatment of the Kurds.

Absolutely, I echo your thoughts. I was also critical of the method, but again cannot fault where we have reached. I think both of us were actually out for a while back around the 1.5p mark?

Yes kind of puts things in to perspective Kirbs.
As you know I was often annoyed at the raisings, not that we didn't need the money but often in the methods and companies used to raise the money which I thought didn't serve shareholders well.
But you can not take away what the team at Ariana have managed to achieve through what was a bear market for goldies for most of that period.
Hats off to all cocerned.

In 5 years we've gone from arguing one here about whether raising was required and whether it was via the bucket shop, to arguing about whether the dividend will be 0.75p or 1.1p :)The share price wasn't even 1.1p back then!

Is the share price due a rerating? I'm inclined to think so but I'm biased :-)

Having said that I don't remember an rns relating to exploration ever being negative which bodes well for future salinbas and Cyprus exploration

I remember Biggles, every RNS was opened in trepidation in case it was yet another fund raising and dilution. Happily today its the complete reverse with every RNS bringing yet more good news

£2.36m in the bank as of june which now will be quite a bit more, no doubt a large amount within Zenit owed to us and $35m to come. Luvly jubbly.

It's possible that even when half is given out as a special divvy, the company will still have between £15m and £20m in the bank for other projects.

Morning all, hopefully some news on this soon-Notably, our investment in Cyprus has continued to progress and we have been encouraged by the success of initial exploration on the island.

I am with temujin (I like džingis khan too): as he said it first I will continue - no dillution - yes

as it was done before and was mentioned to be done again - loans

which the JV will repay.

costing incoming party only the initial stake - and the rest will be financed by loans - profits will be split according to the equity after loan repayment.

Building conglomerate will provide construction services. Good. At what prices (with profit margin getting their initial investment back soon). Veto needed on transfer pricing??

etc

I miss details - which I hope will be presented before voting. Like what other Turkey properties will be sold to the JV, are options underwritten already etc

What I do not like is the delay - we were told dots missing - lol
I hope the JV does not start with bad taste - because if that is the case (it is an option) - details matter.

AAU is good investment

Always best to read what’s written I think!
It says what it says very clearly, with the only non definitive being the associated costs and taxes, but they will be what they will be.
Sounds like people think this is too good to be true, so are looking for something to make it not, give the BOD some credit for pulling off a fantastic deal. Happy days, enjoy it. Imho

Cyberbub. The RNS mentions free carried twice:

1. Management control will remain with Proccea, and both Ariana and Proccea shareholdings will be protected within the Joint Venture by being non-dilutive and free-carried and subject to full minority protection rights....and

2. be free-carried on further costs associated with the development of the Salinbas Project

Neither suggest to me that AAU will be unconditionally exempt from paying their 23.5% share of developments to Salinbas production.

Free carry as I understand it, will mean Ozaltin and possibly Proccea, will pony up the very substantial upfront costs, and 'free carry' AAU to production, but that AAU will then have to pay back that free carry from their share of the Salinbas mining profits.

Temmujin it specifically states 'non dilutive'. Surely that means that Ariana will *not* have to stump up 23.5% of capex (at any time, whether upfront or out of profits)?

Happy to be wrong, but reading posts suggesting that the Ozaltin free carry for AAU at Salinbas could mean that Ozaltin/Proccea will fund everything from extensive drilling exploration, all studies, permits and possibly a $100m+ mine build at NO costs to AAU, imo is for the birds.

Ozaltin and Proccea are paying AAU $12.5m for their share of Salinbas and Oz will also pay $8m for exploration/development. I suspect the 'free carry' means AAU will be exempt of paying 'Upfront Costs' to develop Salinbas to production, but this money will imo, be paid back to Oz/Proccea from future profits.

Biggles

If you have any capital gains allowance left, you could take a chance and sell some pre dividend ex-date and buy the day after. Thereby not receiving the divi and hopefully rebuying at a lower price that reflects that.

Just a thought.

biggles - that 38.1% - is it because the shares are held outside of an ISA?

p.s. for anyone who hasn't visited the Ozaltin web site before, here's the link - it's well worth a look
