Base - agree 2007 could be the making of the company.

(I was just surprised at four posts out of the blue on New Year's Eve, I think we had a quorum for a brief while with mjcrockett and Explorer being the only two season ticket holders marked absent. lol - delighted, not complaining....)

Haven't seen this before at HSBC:-

Red24 now provided as part of the Graduate Plus account, previously it was only included AFAIK on the Premier and Bank Account+

A search of the HSBC site for "Red24" suggests this may have come into effect on 2nd November 06.

All good stuff...

Don't forget also that some of the IOD members who get exposure to the product will be Directors of companies who may then hook up with Red 24.

missed from the news release...

IOD has 52,000 members, so say 20% of them have the credit card, extra 10k Red24 members.

Relatively small, but I think this could be a test roll out, its the first account for ARC in credit cards. The rest of HSBC partnership cards have considerably more members and further revenue opportunities for us.....

see bottom of following page for HSBC cards:-

IOD card is run by HFC bank and is in turn owned by HSBC.

Onwards and upwards.

yes, more good news.. it's a shame that market sentiment for these type of stocks is poor at the moment...The next set of results in about 6months time is the crucial one... if they show good progress to the plan of £2m profits for 2008 then it must be due a substantial re-rating.. can't see how this can be held down..also be nice to see a good trading statement end of Dec... this must come good sooner or later ! (imho)

Thanks for your input explorer88...did'nt like that comment myself, although I have invested. All of the other news seemed positive. Not sure if anyone thinks the company may be a good takeover target for either consolidatio or as an in-sourced service provider to a large corporate client. Am I right in saying that one company is paying 1m per annum. Not sure what the cost base is but a 5 year contract alone would put the company a good buy.

Thoughts?

Hi guys

FYI - having thoroughly researched ARC i've decided not to invest in the business. If they can hit their profit targets, then the company is certainly undervalued. However, primarily due to increasing competition, i don't think they will come close to achieving their profit targets. Even if they do get close to achieving their profit targets, i don't think that this level of profitability is sustainable. The size of the market opportunity is also relatively small, compared to other opportunities (e.g. ADA).

The key point is that there is no barrier to entry in this market - anyone can set up a competing business. The product is already being commoditised.

This para. in the statement is insightful...

"However, developing a retail product has attracted the attentions of security industry competitors who have traditionally only serviced the corporate market. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but, nonetheless we are disappointed to be losing the Hiscox business, with effect from 31 December 2006, to a competitor in whom Hiscox have a significant shareholding. Over the medium term, we believe, that the effect of this will not be overly detrimental as more competition should lead to more rapid growth of the market." (hmmmm...!)

I think there are better opportunities out there (ATL, ADA, SRF) ... but good luck to all who are holding ARC.

Yep.. good stuff, coming along nicely... operation loss halved again, turnover up, lots of stuff in the pipeline... still jam tomorrow but we should be turning in an op. profit when the finals are released next May (imo)... be nice to see some good press now..
Agree, the share price should slowly tick up over the coming months.. may top up again at any lower levels that come along.
