21/10/2006 17:30 | Does ARC have a quote in South Africa (the JSE?) sorry to ask but I can't find any reference on ADVFN. | ![]() chairman2
21/10/2006 15:18 | exp88 I've looked into this myself. If you think about the pure info feed itself (country news etc), barriers are lowish. However, their big protection is the centre in South Africa. To actually have a team of experts based in SA, knowledgeable about all security processes in English and Japanese AND at a low relative cost is key. That is why HSBC conducted months of due diligence on them before signing up and the same for AIG. These aren't your smaller managed enterprises and they want assurance that the company can handle such volume. Essentially what I like about the business is that its very near to break even, if not already there. Their cost base is relatively fixed, additional contracts have the potential to transform the bottom line, I guess this is why the management are so bullish about achieving £2m profit. Even if they only make £1m, what do the sums tell you about its mkt cap? | ![]() integer
21/10/2006 13:05 | Hello Integer Slowly working my way through understanding ARC - especially the number of warrants, options etc. Management certainly seems to have confidence in the business. The first question i have is ... what is the barrier to entry? What's to stop someone pulling together a few security experts and setting up a competing business? Kind regards exp88 | explorer88

10/10/2006 21:45 | The brokers forecast will no doubt be conservative, but it is a recent forecast. It was updated in August after the AIG contract was announced. It will almost certainly be in line with the company's own internal forecast. MJ | ![]() mjcrockett
10/10/2006 14:35 | well if you have directors buying and a share bonus system in place and you mention the words in profit by 2008 then you announce that you have made another deal with aig(as far as i remember) then whos to say that small loss might not be a loss atall just my opinion dyor | ![]() deadfred2

10/10/2006 11:28 | I am not expecting anything great from the financials at the interims - Hoodless Brennan are forecasting a small loss for the current financial year. However, it will be interesting to hear of any new contracts and particularly how the new AIG contract is getting on. MJ | ![]() mjcrockett
10/10/2006 09:49 | Last yr interims were released 16th Nov so only another month or so to wait... Should see progress as per plan... As a reminder from this Aug AGM statement.... Outlook An intensive programme of product development and cost cutting throughout the Group has improved productivity and, through the three operating divisions, the Group has now established a sound platform for long term customer growth. As already announced, ARC has granted options to its directors and staff. These can only be exercised if the consolidated pre-tax profit for the year ending 31st March 2008 exceeds £2m. The directors see this as a sign of confidence throughout the Group that it will achieve a significant increase in its profits for the year ending 2008 and they view the future with optimism. | ![]() rcktmn
09/10/2006 20:10 | As you say - all depends on deals and revenue - costs should be reasonably fixed. Cannot figure the timescale though. Any decent set of results should light the spark as all deals after that will be cumulative to revenue and therefore profits. | ![]() unionhall
09/10/2006 19:55 | around the 2.2-2.5 mark imho but as always dyor why where do you see it going if they land any more deals before the finals then you never know do you lol remember the covenant of the arc | ![]() deadfred2
