not sure we will see $2 this week or next, slight bump in tsx land due to swedish open, but not much

needs to consolidate and next few months news will be thin, then maybe quite a bit end of year, expecting:

venus spud (better be this year....game changer if hits)
another dividend, end of year
kenya news, though more likely early next yr

although earnings reported nov 11 - nov 15, but that we kind of know

whitecap my pick of those, similar ish ratios to aoi, though not the exploration, similar debt ratio, higher barrels / day, but 5 x mkt cap

aoi better of course, but will add some whitecap when time is right, will only be a medium term play

lots of the others in his portfolio have very high debt, great in a rising oil price, no problem, but they will fall faster with any downturn

3 of eric nuttalls picks, which seem compelling and i will look to buy, are:

Whitecap Resources (WCP TSX)

Cenovus Energy (CVE TSX)

Enerplus (ERF TSX)

note all valuations were done at $70 oil, so if you think oil is going higher (already is), then maybe take a look

aoi are NOT in his portfolio, but i wonder if that is because of the low ish mkt cap

closed at 1.89, 454k volume, a proper move, and not enough hours in the day to trade it, 52 week high and day high, so very strong

its more than a hint ray, he has mentioned it too many times, how could he not do it now, would be amazingly bad pr

unless....a blockbuster acquisition comes in, which i'm fine with

and aoi have a great track record of finding oil, in fact cant remember a miss, kenya was a hit, south africa was a hit.......so yes they are good oilmen

and the pressure just continues, new yearly highs every few days / weeks.

getting close to 3 X avg volume, which was already higher than last few months

one of the tailwinds keith has mentioned is that if (when) we get to a billion dollar company, the funds will start to take them seriously, and that isnt far off

also the dividend, if decent, will get some income fund interest

everything is sitting really well, could do with some more barrels but sure he is working on it, and some strikes to hit (venus would be amazing.....that would be a lot of barrels to aoi)

cant believe you have bought some more

at least now with aoi the numbers are getting clearer. should be 300 million net a year going fwd, but dont forget nigeria wont last forever, it will need to be replaced at some point to keep us at or above 30k barrels a day (although there is the 4th mysterious nigerian field)

so they need to get value out of kenya or hit on some impact stuff (some of which will) and cash in AFE

i'm going to join you on adding more, but will wait until it settle somewhere in 1`.70's and then get some more


you could double the share price before i would even think of questioning the valuation

and think could easily afford 10 cents (47 mill canadian) as a div which is now a cert i think

Just the tsx price Martin, I’m just wishing I had a much larger holding of aoi, but I keep looking at my other holdings and feel if I sell one of those I could regret it later. Such is life, but I’m trying to conserve cash for a rainy day!

i personally cant wait (but will be within a year or so no doubt) until afe gets sold off and liquidated, returning money to aoi, will benefit me as an afe holder and of course aoi

current holding to aoi $130 million plus.....prob not accounted for in valuation but there you go

though china's stockpiling prob strategic to save money / guarantee supply

chickens coming home to roost with the green dream, the mkt will punish them hard for all commods that are in fixed supply, maybe that will get them to reconsider or go green at a more sensible / sustainable rate

aoi were 11 dollars at $100 oil, now that was before kenya was fully explored had more potenhtial and the oil wasnt known to be a bit waxy but still.....
