Antonov FY pretax loss widens; sees steady progress in yr ahead

LONDON (AFX) - Automotive technology company, Antonov PLC said its full year
loss widened, in line with expectations as the company's commercialisation
strategy accelerates, adding that it is confident of steady progress in the year
ahead.
In a statement, the company said during the period, the company focused on
building revenues as initial order streams meet 2006 budgets.
As it makes further progress on the commercialisation of its intellectual
property, there may, in due course, be further demands on working capital and as
such, Autonov intends to increase its authorised share capital and put in place
appropriate authorities for the directors to issue further equity.
Proposals will be put to shareholders at the appropriate time, it added.
Negotiations continue with Shanghai Automotive for Antonov's Dual Clutch
Automatic technology, the statement added.
It said the patent case judgment on the alleged Toyota Prius infringement is
expected in August.
CEO John Moore said: "Antonov will deliver initial revenues from the launch
of our supercharger drive unit to meet 2006 budgets and the board remains very
optimistic with regards to the opportunities that lie ahead."
In the full year, losses came in at 4.275 mln stg from 3.061 mln loss the
year before with loss per share at 14.6 pence versus 11.7 pence.

Fokussiert ist man mit den Produkten und Technologien vor allem auf
die Autoindustrie.

Dass die Patente von Antonov in der Autoindustrie nachgefragt
werden, zeigt auch der aktuelle Rechtsstreit von Antonov gegen Toyota
aufgrund bestehender Patentverletzungen. Es betrifft vor allem die
Toyota Serie Prius und den Lexus RX400h. Es wird weiter erwartet,
dass die Klage in Düsseldorf vor dem 28. August abgeschlossen wird.
Man ist zuversichtlich den Rechtstreit zu gewinnen und somit seine
Patentrechte zu verteidigen. Der Streitwert der Patentklage wird
hierbei allein auf ca. 40 Mio. Euro geschätzt. Nach Aussagen von
Antonov wird die von Antonov patentierte Technologie auch von Ford
genutzt.

Das Hauptprodukt von Antonov, das Antonov Mechanical Module
("AMM"), basiert auf Nutzung der Zentrifugalkraft und Axialdruck. AMM
kann somit ohne hydraulischen Antrieb bzw. ohne Elektrizität
funktionieren. Aufgrund des kostengünstigen Antriebs ist vor allem
der Einsatz in Microcars denkbar. Die Resonanz ist sehr positiv und
es wurde bereits für 100.000 Einheiten pro Jahr angefragt.

Fazit
Antonov Plc verfügt über aussichtsreiche Patente und Technologien,
die vor allem in der Automobilindustrie Anwendung finden könnten.
Aktuell geht der Trend zum Antrieb durch alternative Kraftstoffe. Für
den spekulativen Investor bietet sich ein günstiges Einstiegsniveau.
Die Analysten des PENNYSTOCK REPORTs stufen die Aktie auf Kaufen mit
einem Kursziel von 3 Euro.

Antonov says Toyota lodges counter infringement claim in Japan

LONDON (AFX) - Antonov PLC, the automotive technology company which has
filed an infringement claim against car maker Toyota, said Toyota lodged a
counter claim challenging the validity of Antonov patent JP 2894760, on Feb 15.
Antonov said it received no notice of Toyota's claim, which was lodged in
Japan, but re-affirmed its confidence in its own claim.
The original claim, lodged in the Patent Court in Dusseldorf alleges
infringement of Antonov's patents by the driveline of the Toyota Prius and Lexus
RX400h in April 2005.
