We have this thing called the Internet these days. According to the Law Insider website, the generally accepted meaning of the term "first gas" is as follows:-

"First Gas means management’s current estimate of the date on which natural gas will first be made available to the relevant project. Full commercial operations of such projects will occur later than, and may occur substantially later than, the First Gas date."

The point surely is that first gas does not equal full production.

I can't help casting my mind back to His Pinocchio-ship's several softball love-in interviews in March (only three months ago) where he was repeatedly banging on about all the lovely unhedged sales that would be made in June and quoting completely insane June revenue figures of £7.2 million...

As with everything ANGS to date, it just didn't happen, did it?

While you're about it, you could have another for consistent monthly production volume in therms from the two existing wells (though there'll be at least a 3 month delay from full production start before the NSTA issues those verified numbers)...

...and a third for the date of completion of the sidetrack attempt, whether successful or not.

All of those would be a whole heap more relevant and significant than merely predicting first gas.

Anyone would think you’re part of the Anguish management (non-Board, of course), Jonny, your grasp of use of English is so nugatory. I put “first gas” in inverted commas because no one seems to know what it is. Well, I suppose someone has got it right, but it will have been just a lucky guess.

There’s been some funny thinking on the other site. Apparently one should buy because every day that goes by without a progress update brings “first gas” a day nearer! They’re ignoring the fact that every two weeks, the start date gets put back by another two weeks.

3Put, neither my stance nor my opinion nor my assessment of the "what ifs" has ever changed.

I primarily comment on the hedged period (i.e. the next three years) firstly because it's now upon us and secondly because there is a huge level of ignorance on what the hedge actually means and the financial effect it will inevitably have.

This ignorance is something that the ramptastic squad adore and play upon, because it allows them to make even more BS claims than usual.
