23/11/2017 15:30 | Good point, but no.Palm oil hit a low around May and is up a bit since then. Not much correlation really. | shakyhands
23/11/2017 13:34 | Maybe tracking palm oil price too? | investopia
23/11/2017 13:08 | Looks okay to me - could just be poor liquidity of the shares.Basically, the share price rise had tempted profit-taking in a thin market. | shakyhands
23/11/2017 12:47 | Any other lurkers still holding here? If so, what do you make of this plunge? | investopia

19/1/2017 12:10 | Very nice trading higher still on reasonable volume with zeeeero interest from the punters, cpo price is very high, time to see a cheeky takeover bid maybe ? | catsick
20/12/2016 08:48 | No posts for a year ! Nice move higher in the last few months and good m and a activity in the sector, yet deadly quiet ! | catsick
08/12/2015 14:10 | Agree, they have a well-invested estate of 70,000 producing hectares - and lots of spare acreage still to plant, and cash in the bank. I heard an interview with the CEO of another palm oil producer, who pointed out that whilst there has been a drop in demand for bio-diesel (which anyway is only about 10% of the palm oil market), the demand for palm oil for food is still increasing with rising population and living standards. | lobby ludd
08/12/2015 13:48 | Solid balance sheet. They look cheap on a net tangible assets value basis. The yield is low - perhaps the market has fallen out of love with palm oil and rubber overseas assets. | shakyhands
08/12/2015 12:47 | Quite a drop here recently, compared with other Palm Oilers, RE. and MPE. Any thoughts ? | lobby ludd
24/5/2015 20:20 | No worries. | hvs
31/12/2014 01:08 | hxxp://www.platts.co Platts says trouble ahead for the next 3-5 years. Could me a buying opportunity for the very patient..... Lets see if planting slows down. Any idea what earnings will look like if prices remain at this level? | paperwerks
23/12/2014 20:56 | Yes, difficult to turn the production tap off, palm oil demand is elastic, supply isn't. And, I would suspect when replanting takes place (what with advances in plant genetics) it is with higher yielding varieties - thus more oil from the same acreage. On the other hand...a quick google of 'palm oil consumption', shows plenty of graphs with ever increasing demand; spurred on by economic growth and rising population (the 3 biggest consumers, China,India,Indonesi | lobby ludd
20/12/2014 14:37 | Hey Lobby, Thanks for that explanation. This pricing issue should then resolve itself when the other oils return to more normal pricing then. Unfortunately, I added more just after the 1st half results were released. The other issue that keeps me from making this a big position for me is that all the public palm oil compnaies have been rapidly growing production year after year with no end in sight. At some point I am worried they will overplant and palm oil will be in surplus. But the big problem is that even at that point if all the companies stop all planting then supplies will still keep on increasing for many years as trees mature. So, a glut ( if it comes) could last a very long time. Sort of like Iron Ore but not crude oil which can adjust quickly due to rapid depletion of existing wells. Do you see this as a possible/large investment risk? | paperwerks

12/12/2014 15:18 | No, but because the CPO price is at a 3 year low. Between $800 and $1000 for the whole of 2013 and first half of 2014; now $675. The result of excellent 2014 harvests of soya and sunflower oil, palm's major substitutes. Only 5% of palm oil production is used in energy; 70% food, 25% consumer products. | lobby ludd

12/12/2014 10:53 | Well it broke through support. Now what? Are they selling because they think palm oil demand for biodeisel will decline due to substitution by the newly cheap crude oil? | paperwerks |
