And there Zang you highlight exactly why none of us should get involved. Because for every event that has led to the current impasse there are diametrically opposed views.

I think you’ll find that was snuck in after the summer of ‘76 - far too many people were far too happy, for far too long for the government’s liking….

Yep likewise, I’d go as far as politics and religion are generally my two stay aways, simply because most of the causes of conflicts are politicians, religious leaders oh and let’s not forget royalty in bygone days.

I’m with Donald on this one, it’s a pointless exercise in debating, from the little I know and have read/seen down the years it would be difficult to argue a moral high ground for any side involved. It’s a mess, it’s been a mess for a long time, it’ll likely continue to be so way after we’re all long gone…

One hopes that when the pensioner on the broken bike finally arrives, the market will begin to see that a company forecast to produce the equivalent of 36,000 tons of copper pa, a couple of years down the road, should have a value closer to £300 million instead of the current £100 million.

There were rumours yesterday that the pensioner was seen in a bike shop getting the bike fixed, but regrettably it was next door to a cream cake and pasty outlet and he's on an all expenses paid job.

Bombing a fenced in getto with 100s of 1000s of civilians and preventing aid getting in is in some way unclear?

AIE' I did tell you to hold a core holding, watch the rocket under the share price when the TD news lands.
The cautious shareholders are still holding back !!
I think the MM,s are also short of shares.
A hell of a lot to come yet over the next couple of years IMHO.
Tuck under the mattress and sleep peacefully every night .:-) :-)

Can we not talk about Gaza? I've done a little research into this issue and come to the conclusion that almost everyone doesn't know what they are talking about when it comes to Israel and the Palestinians. And I include myself. I've learned enough to know I don't know enough to be a keyboard warrior on an issue that is existential for many but doesn't affect me.

What with all the tiny trades, the dealing costs must be more than some of those trades

There are many Jews who say Never Again means Never Again for anyone yet Israel with UK/US complicity is committing a genocide in plain sight

What lessons were learned from Aushwitz?

Visited Auschwitz/Birkenau yesterdayAppealing, no... hmmm... not really sure how to describe it. Haunting? Dunno. Just felt it's something one should do if you're this close by.As cmb often alludes to it is both unfathomable and yet clearly within all of man to be that cruel to others. Anything that reminds one it takes work for good men to triumph and complacency ends in disaster is time well spent

Very tempted as I look outside the window. They’re off on an Auschwitz tour today, not really that appealing for me but I’ll check their plans for the rest of the week later. I’d say the square looked very trendy and lively yesterday.
