thanx pogue, that's why I said in my post "they'd have said 'this QTR' or similar!!!",,, I don't expect them to say they have no idea, but, to my mind, to state shortly in an rns, means they have a better idea than by end of this QTR,,, yes, delays can occur due to unforeseen events,,, but,, surely "shortly" means just that,,, days!!!.... as for TXP,, cough cough splutter,, AAZ management is a cut above Paul & his crew (soz Paul, just my opinion and you will no doubt have yours and disagree with me :-) LOL,,,, and that's just fine!!).... if they said 'we dont know when we will get permission' the share price would crater.
Shortly has no timeframe and 'unexpected' further delays can further extend that. You were in TXP....

AAZ Outlook....

The Group submitted all necessary documents by 14 March 2024 to the Government of Azerbaijan to raise the tailings dam wall and is now awaiting receipt of the permission

Receipt of the permission will enable the resumption of normalised production at Gedabek and, at this stage, the Company will accordingly issue guidance for the full year 2024

The Company continues to prioritise the progression of its development portfolio with first production from the new Gilar mine now planned for Q4 2024

Anglo Asian CEO Reza Vaziri commented.....

"Amid what has been a challenging time for the Company, we have made important operational progress and our portfolio of development assets is progressing in line with our expectations. We await Government permission to raise our tailings dam wall, a necessary step for resuming normal production levels and our ability to issue production guidance for the year. We anticipate the permit will be issued shortly and this will enable us to take advantage of the current strong metal prices for the benefit of all our stakeholders".

surely, 'shortly' means AAZ has an idea, a steer from AZERGOV and we are talking days now, not weeks or months!!!!

else, surely they'd have said 'this QTR' or similar!!!

we do believe in our managements ability to give us a sensible timeline based upon their best knowledge, their ongoing discussions & being closer to AZERGOV than we are,,, surely!!!

not sure why that RNS does not warrant a huge jump. I think it maybe just the publicity/ramping the company has been pumping out for a few weeks starting to hit home. To be fair it is very undervalued just now based on what they appear to have. The selling down of the CEOs shares by the CEO's lender, misunderstood presidential decree which was actually positive last year and the fundraise after those 2 hits have gutted the share price Happy to see it rising for a change.

Merryn Somerset Webb's Podcast "Merryn Talks Money" had a good interview with Charles Hall from Peel Hunt this weekend & covered this topic + how little institutional money is now invested in UK equities.
The trend is getting worse yet no one in govt really seems to be bothered about it

That's just over a month ago......I would expect a Gov Dept/Bureaucracy.....particularly where the President is involved to take a lot longer then a month to get back to AAZ.

Looks like 2400/oz gold is the new line in the sand. That'll do me for now. I don't know how long (could be years again) gold will be trading between $2000-$2400 but nonetheless it's a welcome shift-up.
