Stop moaning and remember this shocking problem is not down to management. It is down to the risks of doing business in Azer?

Thanks 2sp - that looks more realistic. I thought my cherry-picked numbers were a bit too good to be true!

Still, with gold pushing for $2300, it wouldn't take much to see AAZ profitable again. And copper - I've just noticed it's jumped again, above $4.20. Happy days for miners. Shame we're not one at the moment.

You're right to point it out digger; such a large, non-recurring expenditure.
I recalled it after posting & maybe ought to have revised down my estimated cash burn a tad.
There will be other substantial 1-off CAPEX spends qtr by qtr but that was a biggie.

All part & parcel of Gilar's contribution to come :0)

Could also factor in that as q4 gold sales were only 2.4-mn-oz v 3-mn-oz produced, my cash burn estimate ought to be trimmed pro-rata.

Guess there will be other oversights; it was just a quick take to grasp the magnitude of the cost of this impasse.
Would say $3mn net cash burn per month [v $4mn] greatly change the picture?

Taseko Mines LSE:TKO has finally broken out to new highs.

All permits and funding in place for Florence, so just the build out to come for what will be one of the greenest and most efficient copper production projects in the world.

* Gibraltar Mine British Columbia - second largest open-pit mine in Canada and the fourth largest in North America. Will continue producing Copper and Molybdenum until at least 2044.

* Florence Copper Arizona - Has been in development since 2014. Will start production of low-cost copper cathode production in the heart of America’s EV, solar, and semiconductor manufacturing sectors Next year. 85 million pounds of LME Grade A copper metal each year and a mine life of 22 years.

* Yellowhead Project - Early stage but with 25 Year mine life has potential to be one of the most significant copper mines in North America.

* New Prosperity - Early stage but is one of the most significant copper-gold properties in Canada.

As said previously I hope it comes good wan, Mm’s are usually slow on the uptake with AAZ so may present an opportunity…whichever way the cookie crumbles.

AiE - I only checked late on and favoured the offer in size, don’t know about earlier in the day though…

Well done on MTL chaps, nice move. Is Paul Johnson still involved, or maybe I’m thinking of another “Metals” ?!

AiE, I feel there is a possibility of a big rerate of AAZ shareprice relevant to the TD news.
I suspect that AAZ is no longer without a leak anymore. If and when the news lands and I suspect it could land tomorrow then I will go all in. It all depends on the news ofcourse.
NAI as per normal.
ATB on however you decide to play it.

Powell & the FED coming across as not knowing what the hell they should be doing or, more likely, flip-flopping as best they can to try and keep the markets onside for this year but commodity markets don't seem to be smoking the same stuff and they can see the inflation reaccelerating ... I think if we're all honest, its no way time to consider cutting rates. If anything the data points towards more rate rises being necessary in the USA.
Situation in Europe and the UK looks much weaker & we may end up cuttting here before the FED does.
Whole thing is like the Mad Hatters Tea Party and arguably has been since 2009 ... everyone wants the Tea Party to keep going ad infinitum because no one can face what happens when it ends.

Just has an email from local Ford dealer with their new EV Promotions

£3,500 Deposit contribution, 0% APR and £500 Upgrade allowance on a new Transit .... they are desperate to try and shift what no one wants.

Meanwhile, it's 14 months wait for a new Diesel Transit - which is what businesses want

interesting/frustrating day, had the offer in GDR first thing at 4.55 but was gone in a flash and I wasn’t chasing it, certainly not with funding still a question. LBE well bid all day but down on the day. I note FY results are due/late, my slight concern is what the cash level will show… SND very well bid, over the mid in fact in size - I wonder if Rox are buying all this “cheap” stock, option money down here, could triple or equally disappear 😳

Watching AAZ, nice rise on the day but looked offered to me…

That should not really sppook anyone. Assuming good news soon we can get cracking again and look to a rosy 2025+. I am a longterm holder and can see us being a great miner (which we are0 again in the future on a much larger scale.

Thought I'd revisit that horrible day last September, and pick up a few snippets from the interim results:

"The current costs of maintaining the Group's operations on a "care and maintenance" basis including administrative overheads in Baku and London is estimated at $1.5 million per month"

"Heap leaching continues as normal with 3,684 ounces of gold produced from 1 July to 22 September 2023"

So in theory, if zero expenditure on Gilar etc, the company can cover its overheads and make a small profit at the current gold price.

3684 * 365 / 84 = approx 16,000 oz per year, if HL maintains the same output rate year-round.

16,000 * $2250 = $36m turnover from HL

$18m overheads on care/maintenance

Minus costs of running HL

Should leave us around break-even at worst?

Would welcome thoughts from those who know better - such as whether HL runs smoothly all-year.
