31/7/2020 07:53 | poque Remember the value of gold doesn't really go up, it's more a measure against fiat currencies that are losing value. 50 years ago my farther in law in India could buy 4 ounces of gold with his first pay check of 70 Indian Rupees. Now 70 Rupees can't even be exchanged for £1. If you have very young children/ grand children. Buy them 1 ounce of gold every year until they are 30. That will be their retirement fund. | ![]() katsy
31/7/2020 07:52 | Looks like gold will have a go at $2K today | ![]() c0lin1
31/7/2020 07:51 | c0Lin1. 1 less goldie to invest in. Will also bring more attention to the sector as people start to look at who's next. Clock is ticking Not forgetting it's a cash offer so likely lots of the money will come back into the section | ![]() jaspoland
31/7/2020 07:50 | Pogue Peter Schiff and Jum Rickards have been talking about these kind of numbers for 10 years so its not new. They are simply making a prediction based on increases in M1 / M2 money supply. I think the period you refer to in oil markets was around the time of the 'peak oil' myth. | ![]() brasso3
31/7/2020 07:47 | Wan its beginning to remind me of an oil price rise. Near the top commentators, analyists etc come out with stupid valuations of $150, $200 etc a barrel to suck in mug punters to create liquidity for their clients and friends to exit large positions. Now I have never ridden a gold bull before so its new territory for me but its beginning to smell a bit with all these fanciful projections. | ![]() pogue

31/7/2020 07:33 | um, this could get really silly if these guys are right :-) Cheers Wan :-) Thursday July 30, 2020 12:03 Kitco NewsShare this article: Gold prices have hit all-time highs, but industry heavyweights Jim Rickards, best-selling author, and Peter Schiff, CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, both think that the rally is far from over. Rickards’ analysis points the gold price to $15,000 by 2025. “I would put [gold at $15,000 an ounce before 2025,” Rickards told Kitco News. “If you just take the average of the prior bull markets: 1971 to 1980, nine years, 2200%, 1999 to 2011, a twelve-year bull market, about 700%. Just take the average, you don’t have to go to the higher of the two or extrapolate, if you just take the average of the two you would say the next bull market is going to be a little over 10 years and it’s going to go up 1500%,” he said. $15,000 is the implied, non-inflation price of gold should a gold standard be adopted, theoretically speaking, said Rickards. Schiff pointed out that historically, the Dow/gold ratio has seen much higher levels than today, suggesting that should the ratio retrace historic levels, the gold price should be much higher. “Another way to look at it is to just look at the price of gold in relation to the Dow Jones, because you have historical reference points where twice in the prior century at significant bear market lows, the Dow traded down to a single ounce of gold: 1932 the Dow Jones was roughly equal to an ounce of gold, and in 1980, the Dow was roughly equal to an ounce of gold,” Schiff said. Schiff added that at the current levels of the Dow Jones, the price of gold will have to equal $26,000 an ounce to achieve a 1:1 Dow/gold ratio. Both Schiff and Rickards agreed that a major retracement in gold prices during the current bull market has already happened, and that another significant pullback in prices is unlikely to happen. | wanobi
31/7/2020 07:30 | Spot Gold at 1976 :-) :-) Brent at 43.10 come on AAZ, about time you climbed that leader board,,, you're last!!! LOL LOL GLA Cheers Wan :-) | wanobi

31/7/2020 06:43 | Looking at that Shares Mag table, they also overlooked PXC, up approx 300% since 1st Jan. And I would still buy it with lots, yes LOTS more still to come. | ![]() pantsonfire

31/7/2020 00:32 | If they maintain the policy of dividend being 25% of FCF, that'll be a nice stocking filler come Xmas! Just need some long-awaited drilling results to nudge the share price along ... | goodgrief
30/7/2020 22:56 | GG … there will be plenty of new people with the returning interest in Gold and many of those will be drawn to the dividends also. These things all take time. AAZ is a still a small, young and dynamic company with real ambition. I suspect it will be around for many, many years to come. I'm sure quite a few people are trading some parcels of their shares of late but, I'm sure the larger portion of their holdings is staying put for the longer term. Hang on to your winners, particularly when they vigorous and successful | ![]() mattjos
30/7/2020 22:42 | Yes, sadly most threads only seem to have short-term punters on them & very few seem to do much, if any, research. It's research & patience which enables you to find the real gems amongst the sea of potential growth stories eg.I have just recently started research on a couple of possibilities for 2021 onwards. These are two companies i have been casually monitoring for the 7-9 years. Doubt i will make a decision on either until Oct/Nov unless they move into my target buying zone beforehand. Of course, delighted to receive the handsome dividend today from AAZ. Assuming things go to plan, the next three dividends should be even more spectacular. Divi also from TSG recently & a should receive a good divi from STCM tomorrow + I had a decent chunk of AAU at 3.95 recently so, all in all quite satisfactory few days. I'll also admit to a rare 'dabble' and got a few ORPH on the gap fill today but, the MM's were not offering much size at 12.85p - maybe a hot boring Friday afternoon will prove easier. | ![]() mattjos
30/7/2020 22:37 | Yes Mattjos, but how large is your audience? If you want this stock to surge through 2 quid and beyond, you'll be needing new investors. The share register hasn't changed in years. And zero interest from financial institutions despite Bill trudging the City streets last year. You may be buying, but even you have finite resources! | goodgrief
30/7/2020 21:15 | Mj you run an excellent thread, I’ve read that and others since Bumpa alerted to the Basher situation, albeit I steer clear so as not to pollute it with so much o/t which I know can grate some. It’s probably one of the best threads ever on Advfn for that reason, only have to look at the EVG one today, kind of becomes pointless reading. Anyway you must be grinning like a Cheshire Cat at the dividend paid, as I know I was. | ![]() riggerbeautz |
