But the question is, which one would you buy today?

I agree with you Matt.

In particular the care and safety of 'human ' resources ' and having the right people in the right place at the right time may well not be a given for many employers in the time frame you suggest.I'm sure the current learning curve of the last 4 months will have emphasised that for AAZ and they will plan accordingly for the medium term future.

There is a great prospectus to cover in their current PSA's and concentrating on that alone with geological and operational expertise will be the main priority.

I'd add my thanks to the company for the divi.A win-win for senior management shareholders and all P I's alike.

I think they have very grand ambitions and plans in Azerbaijan … the agreeing of which has simply been delayed due to virus pandemic.
In this sort of situation, there is a fairly strong imperative to simply focus n what you are already doing and make sure it is not affected.
We are no where near getting through this virus & wont be until such time as a vaccine is made available.
Every country in the world, every government in the world is going to be focussed on their people & their economy just now and do all they can to navigate their upcoming winter season.
It looks like there will be vaccine(s) launched in 2021 but, that is too late to be the sole preventer of a second wave through the rest of 2020.

Much as we & AAZ are probably impatient to get going on expansion in Azerbaijan, let's just first focus on ensuring the operation continues to run uninterrupted through 2020. That all our employees/contractors, their families and the general populous surrounding Gedabek are not affected by the virus.

This is No. 1 priority & in some ways, most of the world is going to remain in a near constant state of crisis management for at least another 9 months, imo.

Just odd as you say that someone would post that. I still think AAZ have grander plans beyond Azerbaijan. Let's wait and see what they have to say

jaspo … I was intrigued. Poster in question only created his account yesterday & that his only post.
Now we have Thomas 'idly' speculating same.

I do know that Oman was on the agenda about a year ago and I immediately did quite a bit of research concluded that Savannah was an obvious possibility but, if you dig into Savannah, there are some legal objections (or were, as I have not looked recently) associated with at least one of their blocks.
I don't see Savannah being able to make any progress with those license blocks & they have indicated that they are 'reviewing things' so to speak.

Maybe there just was not a deal to be done there that trumped the attractiveness of the Conroy licence areas, which AAZ have been eyeing for quite a long time.

Who knows … maybe Reza just did not like the feel of Oman & if that is/was the case then, I trust his judgement on the matter (far more than I do the chap running Savanah).

I'm with HL and nothing received yet.
Last divi they were a day later than everyone else.
I suppose if you do that for everybody over enough accounts they can make a bit of money from it.

Just idle speculation but Savannah Resources have a couple of copper projects they wish to sell in Oman, wasn’t Oman one of the countries that AAZ looked at before deciding on Ireland.

2821 - I wondered how long it might be before we had some news that Reata would be entering into cv
19 trials on the basis of upregulation of nrf2. Interestingly the trial has a primary endpoint of safety, not efficacy...?? Hate to repeat or labour the point but yet again I’m drawn to the out of kilter valuation here.
