30/4/2020 08:48 | played mf, you gotta trade some of these moves imo - hanging around too long in many of them will eventually be suicide. | bumpa33
30/4/2020 08:43 | Brasso rich people around the world will pay that. Think of premier league footballers, for a mere percentage of a week's pay they can play again. The whole circus that is football can recommence behind closed doors, small price. Will be interesting to see how it is distributed. I assume politicians will use public funds to buy the first batch though as they are so going to point out they are clearly very important, and old. | pogue
30/4/2020 08:42 | I feel the end game of this episode which is just starting is to arrive at normalised interest rates circa 5 to 7%. But there would appear to be a lot of chaos and misery before we get there. AAZ remains a steal, but the divi should be a stand out, no debts to service, loads a money in the Bank, and over $1000 margin on extracted gold. At some point AAZ will get noticed. | lefrene
30/4/2020 08:41 | Bought back some of the AVCT I sold yesterday but hard to get any online. EML firms again, tick tock!!! | mad foetus
30/4/2020 08:39 | Morning folks - gone small short CGNR @ 13, will load more higher up if it gets out of hand. Tried VAL on the two leaches finally being ousted, but again no bloody liquidity and not paying stupid money. They’ll need to raise anyway I’m guessing. | bumpa33
30/4/2020 08:35 | fwiw...Shell "rebased" its divi; cut to 34% of what it was. Going down like a lead balloon. It's prudent given the circumstances. Shell never cut their divi since WW2, though the RDSA [but not the RDSB] variant issued them in script for a while. In contrast BP held it's divi and even kept to the small rise they'd given recently. Whatever, for Shell to slash its divi hard, something they didn't need to do [Free cash flow Q1 was over $12-bn!], they must see a hard road ahead for some years. They have also pruned CAPEX hard - as expected - the $25-bn share buyback previously put on ice and note the modest fall in [debt] gearing which i guess they will try to deduce a lot faster/more from the retained cash from the divi cut. Think we will be seeing a lot of similar corporate measures going forward. But not at all here. | 2sporrans
30/4/2020 08:20 | At $10,000 a shot I would rather take my chances with the virus and kiss someone who is on deaths door. | brasso3
30/4/2020 08:16 | many thanx Rb, I've ordered it on amazon, it'll will be here tomorrow and I shall read it over the weekend,,, cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
30/4/2020 08:12 | cmb I can confirm your point on the vaccine being manufactured in India, Pune I believe, just talked to an Indian colleague in Chennai and he was saying they were talking about $10000 a shot to start with! Local rumors obviously but the first manufacturing run is going to be heavily sought after and I suspect a sellers market. | pogue
30/4/2020 08:00 | ....And a slow painful bear market for a few years where the US markets in particular, breach the recent falls and go much lower.Just not overnight as that has already happened IMHO. | onedayrodders
30/4/2020 08:00 | My thoughts ... Personally, just like 1978, the 2000 tech bubble and the 2008 financial crisis ... I think we have already had the 'crash' as such of around 30-35% from the peak to the low. With the US Ponzi scheme printing rainforest of paper to delay the inevitable, I see some sideways action for several months with the markets reacting to good news on the virus and then the real world economic bad news. | onedayrodders
30/4/2020 07:56 | Interesting IEA, Institute of Economic Affairs, video picking on trends and learning from the past to predict what happens when we come out of lockdown. I started 20mins in as I was wanting to know the economic results not the preamble. Basically reduction in supply chain length, globalization stopping, rise in nationalism, massive social security reform, more homeworking, hedonism as people realize there is more to life, online life and shopping to boom and evolve quickly, fall in paper asset values, large scale debt forgiveness etc all trends I believe are obvious but nice to hear it put together and justified by someone else. So the way forward for me is precious metals, online shops and new services eg my local comedy venue is doing Zoom comedy nights, invest in companies that supply local markets, I see UK industry and farming will get a shot in the arm, sell the Euro, Nationalism not good for EU unity, large events and the arts in general to get a boost and probably travel from the hedonists, property values to fall as people decide spending so much on property is a waste of time and they can work from home in a cottage in the Highlands for pennies. Interested where others see opportunities going forward in the brave new world we are going into. | pogue
30/4/2020 07:50 | AAZ - does anyone know if there will be an investor presentation online in the absence of Bill travelling over to give it in person,,, sorry to ask, but I've lost touch with AAZ whilst focusing on the cv19 dragsters :-) LOL cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
30/4/2020 07:47 | many thanx avsome,, yes,, I think so,,, there are many out there who are very comfortable predicting gold at $10,000/oz and even $20,0000/oz,,, although what state the world would be in, in such a situation doesn't bare thinking about :-) LOL,,, $3000 would be very nice indeed for the likes of AAZ :-),,, I'll go with it as a target :-) Cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
30/4/2020 07:44 | cmb, many thanx for your post this morning,,, fingers crossed mankind is close to solutions to the cv19 problem, no matter what form they come in :-),,, as for cv19 investing,,, to me right now it feels like we're in a race and there are many, many runners and riders coming at the problem from many different angles,, who knows who'll emerge with long term share price appreciation,,, hopefully AVCT will be one of those, still very much a punt though,,,,, especially at current MCAP (in the UK stock market, maybe not so if it had been listed in the USA),,,, I keep reminding myself, Wan where would AVCT share price be right now had cv19 not come along,,, answer, probably a lot lower than today,, until it proves up the technology we invested for in the first place,,, so the SP/Valuation has been distorted out of all proportion right now.... get the test right however and it could fly from here LOL LOL,,, tis a real mind-bender situation LOL,,, GLA holders and fingers crossed, cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
30/4/2020 07:43 | Stimulus works over time we have seen that before. But this is something completely different, These companies are not making a penny at this moment, and most will likely not be even braking even for a long time after the lock down has finished. It seems the market has lost all sense of reality. Companies that have not been effected and are making record profits are just being ignored. I still think this will correct itself over time. When people say that if or should i say when the market comes to its senses, all stock will drop. Well not all stock are rising in this market. I have learnt over the years that the market never acts like you expect, and this is a perfect example of that. But this is the most crazy thing i have ever seen. | gold finger 1
30/4/2020 07:31 | nice bullish flag been building in gold,,, time to breakout, hopefully to the upside coming soon,,, we shall see, fingers crossed, GLA Cheers Wan :-) free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | wanobi
30/4/2020 07:29 | Good morning all. Wan there is vaccine being produced in India right now. It costs 5 Cents to manufacture it. It is being produced in conjunction with Oxford UniI think. They have a virus from apes that is harmless and fools the immune system into attacking the Crona Virus. I read about it yesterday. Let's hope we get some news from AVCTA soon. It has to come before the 6th of May. I am waiting to see what they have to say !! I have not bought anything lately or sold anything. GLA. | callmebwana
30/4/2020 07:05 | hmmm, yes, does feel a bit like my 'rain dance' for a black swan came home to roost somewhat,,, although the scale of it has caught me by surprise and when I think back to my list of threats,,, earthquake, war,,,, etc etc,,, I am pretty sure not once did I ever consider a virus!!!! seems incredible to think, that now,,, and must now be at the top of any SWOT analysis threats list,,,, hmmm, fingers crossed "Gilead Sciences’s Remdesivir could be the first treatment against the virus... Having a treatment could have a profound effect on the global pandemic, especially because health officials say any vaccine is likely a year or more away".... Cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
30/4/2020 07:04 | Perhaps the market believe the stimulus measures will work . PMI in China moved into positive territory for April. Some better than expected corporate news coming out in the US. Who knows. | podgyted
30/4/2020 06:58 | Good morning, Good Luck and the very best of health to you all this morning, cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
29/4/2020 23:30 | Hubs, indeed ! To-day i have the amazing luxury of a Tesco's door to door delivery with of course the maximum 80 items ! Well almost, for some inexcusable reason no carrots, pasta or flour included ! They had included the all important alcoholic items. About time they sorted out those supply lines, guess i will just have to learn how to make pasta - sighhhh. lol | swallowsflysouth
29/4/2020 22:32 | sfs - Anyone that delivers to your door! AAZ are a fantastic company, thanks CMB, but I've also learnt, just about sometimes!, to take a profit and be happy with it. There's always opportunity, so what if you miss this one? Next week will be...whoever! and most likely AAZ again sometime soon. gla. | hubs |
