29/4/2020 22:02 | clearly I'm not alone in finding the market rises bizarre! | doc_oj
29/4/2020 22:02 | CMB, i feel very much the lightweight here, well i am, to old for this game ! Wasn't feeling quite the ticket, just the weather nothing serious like cv19. A few reds indeed, and a few more. Think i need to find a good wine company to invest in lol | swallowsflysouth
29/4/2020 21:35 | Wan I’ve picked up a new book I tuck away and now seems an apt time to reread and refocus myself. James Montier: The little book of Behavioural Investing. It’s a constant reminder against bad habits and every few years I take it away with me, as I can usually get through it in 3 or 4 days. One of the very good “little book” series, well worth anyone’s time. | riggerbeautz
29/4/2020 21:25 | LOL ..SFS,you have been missing for a few days !! Good for you that you follow your instinct and sold out here and bought into TSG, good luck there. Have a few reds and let the world do what it wants to. ATB. | callmebwana
29/4/2020 20:21 | In these difficult times its important to keep a sense of humour and support each other as best we can. We all have our different ways of investing and must do what we feel most comfortable with. I personally am struggling with changing to new investment habits but change i am, be it at a some what pedestrian pace (well i am in my 70's), the old rules for safe investment are not necessarily the best thing to abide by. 'Bubbles' well yes, indulge in with care. 'Safe' investments well yes, indulge in with care. No difference, how investment life has changed. I actually cannot think of one single gold mining company quoted in London that i feel 100% comfortable with so for me its a question of which ones do i feel 'least uncomfortable' with, i can be very 'fault finding' with potential investments not always the best characteristic. TSG grades were amazing, excellent for LOM and income stream probably in the not to distant future which is what i want with the pog and its likely direction. Finally who do we blame for all this chaos cv19 has caused ? Me i'm blaming Wan he was the one insisting on having a 'black swan' oh dear he's got some influence with him upstairs. lol | swallowsflysouth
29/4/2020 20:16 | Hemo was a hype trade from Monday morning, you could see it brewing from Friday over the weekend, you only had to glance around the message boards and Twitter. | riggerbeautz
29/4/2020 20:07 | Bumpa , both hemo and pyc were ridiculously over valued | jbe81
29/4/2020 19:52 | i see also those TSG transfers announced today. Hopefully good news for us holders | jeanesy
29/4/2020 19:49 | One of the best threads on Advfn i dont tend to post much but receive lots of ideas from this many thanks Wan for setting it up | jitters3
29/4/2020 19:40 | There were two very large transfer / sale of TSG shares to Institutions today. Do you see any benefit / implications for ordinary shareholders. Frustratingly, there does not appear to be an indication, at what price. | klosters65
29/4/2020 19:23 | thanx Bumpa and again, many thanx for your contribution :-) cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
29/4/2020 19:16 | I cant blame you SFS . I am hopeful that TSG will turn out to be a good investment in time. Those grades were amazing . As for AAZ i am still sticking with them . It has served me well. I have traded a few but still have most of my money in them until i feel they are fully valued or something goes wrong. The problem with AAZ now is that althouhg it is a dependable stock.. famous last words.. it is not one that will now move sharply like some covid stocks have .. 50% rises each day and more. The hot money is buying into covid stocks but it will come back here when that phase is over. Some will get there fingers burned like the dot.com boom. | jeanesy
29/4/2020 18:53 | this is a great thread wan, with good contributors, lots of ideas etc and banter. We’re all understanding something new every day, the game is always evolving, changing, mutating - I don’t recognize it from when I started - I’m sure another 20 years and it’ll be unrecognizable again. Excellent work fella. | bumpa33
29/4/2020 17:51 | Fully agree friend, I'm dying of boredom here! Even a few snapshots of the fabled "bearded lady of Baku" would be better than this silence. | mad foetus
29/4/2020 17:44 | Think Bill was due to be over to present at Proactive tomorrow.(No longer possible of course). His visits have always produced a new slide presentation and have usually been a follow up for news released just before by the company. News would be quite timely on a number of fronts so an update tomorrow would be great if it were to appear. | friendzarin
29/4/2020 17:39 | lol wan @ local fridge | ntv

29/4/2020 17:21 | Followup to my thoughts earlier on offices closing looks like Barclays are up for it as well. Having thousands of bank workers in big, expensive city offices "may be a thing of the past", Barclays boss Jes Staley has said. About 70,000 of Barclays' staff worldwide are working from home due to coronavirus lockdown measures. This had led to a rethink of the bank's long term "location strategy", Mr Staley said. | pogue
29/4/2020 16:07 | For Trump supporters and those like me who indulge in cleaning and pharmo companies a little something to bring a smile to your face by the amazing Pam Ayres At last we have a cure for all! Ailments large and ailments small, Good health is not beyond my reach, If I inject myself with bleach. Radiant, I'll prance along, Every trace of limescale gone, With disinfectant as my friend, Like him, I'm clean around the bend. | swallowsflysouth
29/4/2020 16:06 | Sfs no problem, each to their own, my patience with AAZ has been well rewarded so far, I see no doubt other than underwhelming share performance this year to doubt management; until they prove otherwise like a few others I guess, I’ll continue to hold and accumulate on any weakness in price. | riggerbeautz
29/4/2020 16:05 | Hubs, my trading methods over the last few weeks have changed drastically, feel very much on tender hooks on which way to jump, hence unusually for me some short-term trades and holding more cash than normal. Just nervy at the moment i guess. | swallowsflysouth
29/4/2020 16:05 | this is gonna happen at some stage I reckon, although distinguishing between surreptitiously pumping the futures mkt and up front buying of etf’s seems a moot point.... | bumpa33
29/4/2020 15:53 | Anybody having problems with I/ web and Halifax services? | avsome1968 |
