Hardware to do large scale video editing has come a long way - what was once the domain of heavy spec computers with fast processors, large ram, expensive video cards etc etc can now be done on an M Series chip equipped Mac. |
but, would it, if it came out and said something like,,, "we're developing an AI add on to the platform which will do some amazing stuff,, we can say what yet as that's our IP, but, watch this space, coming soon".... would that be a USP ? |

Jb2 - there are a ton of collaborative video editing solutions out there, just Google it - I couldn’t see what elevate.io provided to give it a USP that was a must have. I asked SSB previously if I’ve missed something but never received an answer, or at least a coherent one anyway. As previously said, from memory they had a solution to a problem from the 2000’s - insufficient internet bandwidth for large scale video editing - that’s no longer a problem and ever since they’ve been scratching around trying to find a solution to another problem that doesn’t exist. IMO! |

I’ve looked at it bumpa. Think it’s probably actually fairly decent. Thing is I don’t know enough about the market to know whether co-operative video editing is actually wanted. Ok so it does it in a browser, big deal, can’t help but feel that’s largely irrelevant. Don’t people working as vid editors have high spec hardware anyway?
Encouraging to see photoshop has just touted a co-op version.
Perhaps demand does exist.
Now they just need to sell it. They’ve never managed to sell ANYTHING they’ve ever created in meaningful numbers. Probably best to see if Adobe want to buy it but the ego of those involved will probably prevent that. |
