I wonder how many more shares the 'seller' has and why they are selling at levels not seen april despite all the good news since then ?

They are presenting in London on the 5th and 6th September, hopefully will be at one of those events.

Looks like more news is up-coming therefore, they usually have some news delivery before such events.

Looks cheap around current levels.

More than happy to sit tight and wait for the various exploration results to come in, I'm rather hopeful that gadbeck, gadir and ugur will extend LOM's quite substantially, and of course waiting for the divi news, long term holders here probably bought in around the 4-7p mark which makes the divi very attractive. Good fortune to you all.

Appreciate reducing liquidity is a bad idea which is why after entering treasury I was wondering whether mechanisms existed to sell or reissue.
As you allude to tc333 we can continue to sit tight and I’m fine with that in view of the good news that we are expecting to come in the next 6 weeks or so.

Share buybacks are often seen as a panacea for a weak share price, but I am not convinced. If AAZ is to attract institutional shareholders it needs to increase its market cap not shrink it. To do this it needs to continue to deliver operationally and financially and to then reinvest to significantly increase the mine life - this is vital to attract long term owners. I believe this will happen and the shares will go up in time, with or without institutions on board.
I have used recent weeks to increase my understanding of the company and as a result accumulate a position much larger than I originally expected to, so in a way recent share price weakness has been helpful. Opportunities like this don't present themselves every day, so it's important to take maximum opportunity when they do.

Wouldn't a share buy back decrease liquidity? The CEO already has around 32 million shares, that with all the other board members and non exec's, doesn't leave much out of the 113 million shares in issue. This is a tightly held stock.

I've seen some larger companies exercise buybacks, SSE comes to mind recently. Share price just slipped anyways, seemed to make no difference at all.

Why would you want to decrease liquidity. A stock split would be a better idea.

Apologies to wanobi for hijacking the narrative but can I go on topic and ask for views on the board about the company buying back shares to create a more robust trading environment ?

Is it possible ? Has the board the authority to do it without any existing shareholder vote ?

If the company buys say 2 mill shares at circa £1 mil and puts them in treasury. They are not cancelled and may then be reissued.

Is there an opportunity to reissue them as share options within an employee share option scheme which reinforces employee incentive and commitment ?

It wouldn’t impact on any obligation on Reza to bid would it ?
The company should have enough free cash flow to enable this without impacting on the ability to pay sustainable dividends would it not ?

Alternatively could they use this or a higher percentage buy back to introduce by resale a new institution to the share list which could only help in building the shareholder base ?

Only my musings but would be nice to have any views that the board polymaths have.

bazboa .... just looking at this Jan 18 - Jan 19 timeframe. Looks like a normal stock in 'waiting mode' .... plenty of bored selling going on coupled with no near-term stimulus to persuade much in the way of buying. Most can see a line of support evident in the 40p - 41.5p region & that is where the buying is coming in and driving back the sellers since April.

They do not usually go to the tip of the Apex on these patterns .... an upside breakout will usually occur approx. 60-80% 'into' the shape but, it will obviously need volume to break past that overhead red downtrend.

All down to the anticipated newsflow in the September & October period:

Hi Mattjos, I see 41.25 on the trades page for last sell of 5K shares; but, how do you determine that one can sell up to 30K shares,,,, but full ask to buy anything? just looking at that 850 shares buy at 43p or dummy orders for like 1 share? Also what's T20 range mean? And what does JORC stand for? thanks
