To be fair, Lef. the buoyant Gas/Oil prices must have helped immensely.

Good news t'other day that Russia+Iran found common ground wrt national [resource] ownership limits for the Caspian sea, along with Azer/Kaz./Turkmen.
So now a stack of pending gas/oil developments can get go-ahead; e.g. trans Caspian Gas pipeline.
Russkies seem OK to allow these competitors to their European gas supply near-monopoly, in return for greater regional stability/wealth/co-operation/trade etc.

All good for AAZ methinks.
Might even catalyse Ajerbaijan<>Armenian reprachment, brokered by Russia.
AAZ has 2 big licences in occupied area.

Looking at this exponential T-lira v $ depreciation lately, triggered me to search for the foreign debt status.

Even at end of March foreign debt was 53% of GDP; so must be well over 60% now and rising faster by the day:

hxxp://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/turkeys-external-debt-stock-reaches-466-7-billion-in-first-quarter-133976

Article states:
"Nearly 75 percent of the total gross external debt of the country consisted of long-term debts -- with a maturity of more than one year."

I read that as: Over 25% debt is scheduled for repayment in under 1 year; i.e. over $120-bn of it.
Article also says ~70% is owed by Turkish private sector, say $85-bn due repayment in <1yr..
Must put a strain on Turkish banks; dunno what their % is.

Smell capital flow controls on their way.

Yet, guess the banks will still be buying gold as % of their growing capital defence as not evident Erdogan & Son will change tack.

The Azeri Manet on the other hand indicates a steady relationship with the $, better than the £. Says something about a well managed economy.

not surprising there are concerns about the Turkish Lira & not all surprising there was heavy buying of physical gold last year & this year in Turkey

Thank you Terropol, so the PWC effect should be out of the way now? There seems to be general selling across the market, perhaps to park cash in US dollars? Although to me gold is as good as US dollars, especially when there's the possibility of much more to be dug up.

I dont think beaufort has anything to do with aaz, hum and ariana would both be much more likely to be effected as they had worked with beaufort. Anyhow good to see a sensible transfer is being done , shame the pwc crooks could not have done this on day 1

Bonkers isn't it? A company effectively debt free and cash positive likely throwing off $1 million a week by now, plus mostly new all paid for very efficient kit, being intelligently employed. Apart from steady-as-she-goes, the managers biggest worry is how to employ the gusher of cash, and yet we have the price of an already very cheap business going down!

I'm not for share buy backs mainly for the sake of liquidity. Money is available to speed up prospecting and grow the mineable estate. If finally there is a surplus of money then special divis are fine by me.

I can only suppose that sellers either badly need money for something else, or that they are disinterested administrators selling off of other peoples assets.

agree Terropol .. we should be trading nearer 60p right now .. this price is not in any way reflective of the company's position / performance. Has to be bought at this level, imo

online bid now above what the online offer was at 08:30

We have to assume Sing had some shares on their books to clear, having done that now back to 43 like Scap and Peel.

All this trading game is not at all reflecting the companies performance.
Keep you cool.

frustrating as have been buying this morning & was after more.

ECB just raised concerns about a banking crisis developing from the Turkish Lira problems. This should be the lows in Gold & AAZ

A large seller?
Dunno about that.
Weren't the 2 50k vol trades both auctions?
Are listed as uncrossing trades; so maybe several trades, albeit mostly sells.

Whatever, don't let the trading noise drown out the investment case.

Along with TheChurch and Bobhope, most investors must have mine life extension at top of their criteria for success; along with boost to reserves quantity/quality I guess.
Most +ve news has an incremental benefit to the sp; jack ups in mine life / reserves may well act as a multiplier.

Bagged a few more this am.
Was a bit slow as selling a few Asian holding to capture something from the past few months £ depreciation, which though v understandable, has had a pretty good run since mid April, e.g. ~8% lower v $Singapore.
Yes, your chart does present the 40-41p bottom buy case nicely Matt.

Gonna keep some firepower in reserve though.
August likely remains a pretty barren prospect for newsflow.

Incidentally, new readers ought not to get lured in by fictitious claims by contributors on the other thread of an inability to buy shares when the price is rising - that is all hogwash. I have noted it time and again on the other thread, it simply is not credible.

When the price is drifting as it has over the past few weeks, there is no reference to buying up every share available. As soon as the price moves up on any day, almost all the longstanding contributors repeat incessantly that they have been trying all morning to buy as much as they can at any price but there simply is no stock- rest assured, at those times, they are trying to sell what they previously purchased at lower levels for purposes of trading the gyrations. They know only too well that one looks to buy when there is no interest in the stock, not the other way round. Moreover, if you were intending to hoover up every share in the next ten minutes, you would hardly be so declaring in advance to the rest of the world.

Caveat Emptor.

I am still long - but, keeping a careful eye on the chart.
