05/1/2017 15:46 | Lovely move on the $ yen now stay down there. | wrighty46
05/1/2017 13:58 | Yes jbe. I'd say its still a possibility, but I don' t think it's likely anymore. They look set up to accumulate assets and "own" them rather than let companies like AAZ "own" them. Makes me wonder the other way. If they'd like to own our assets? For sure they'd get a lot of stuff on a better deal than they got for AIMROC assets. What price would Reza and John be interested in? So do they want our plant and sites? Chovdar is close enough to benefit from Gedabeks plant for high grade ore. What's the grade at Chovdar? Is any of it sulphide? No idea. Do they want any of our expertise with poly metallic ores? The govt are still signing off on the further development of Gedabek. Are they thinking beyond Gedabek? Plus of course they could take out a whole load of costs from AAZ at the moment. Another few $m (for example board costs, economies of scale e.g. for cyanide etc etc). But hey I've been wrong so far! The bit that constantly underlines the position and reassures me is we are still undervalued. Once the debt picture is officially changed a few more people will realise this is worth a lot more. Debt will continue to fall quickly. | jbravo2
05/1/2017 13:19 | 40k buy at full ask | jeanesy
05/1/2017 12:55 | And you are still expecting a big rise in sp, jbravo, interesting. Stated my opinion a while ago, just don't think others should give up hope, it appears that it could still be a possibility. | jbe81
05/1/2017 12:29 | @cannon.. yes I have. I can't see that we will be running Chovdar. | jbravo2
05/1/2017 12:17 | I went into a shop and I said, "Can someone sell me a kettle." The bloke said "Kenwood" I said, "Where is he?" | timberwolf3
05/1/2017 12:00 | Have been enjoying the kettle chat | jbe81
05/1/2017 11:47 | Don't mention the kettle, it upsets some folk :) | timberwolf3
05/1/2017 11:35 | Guess we will get an answer soon, don't think you should give up hope. Kettle starting to boil ;) | jbe81
05/1/2017 11:34 | Posted this last week re chovdar | jbe81
05/1/2017 11:27 | What are people's thoughts on Chovdar currently? Seems to have gone quiet here regarding it, have most given up hope? Personally I haven't but it's gone very quiet on this front | cannonfodd3r
05/1/2017 10:53 | difficult to know the exact effect on the financials of the currency but, the continued weakening of the Manat over the course of the last 12 months will have helped ameliorate the more recent fall in price of gold. Should hear about the evaporation plant shortly | mattjos
05/1/2017 08:30 | Long bond also falling! | el_duderino_7885
05/1/2017 08:16 | As I live in Tokyo I guess AAZ is a bit of a living cost hedge .. | catsick
05/1/2017 08:01 | I'll put the kettle on then, shall I? | scottishfield
05/1/2017 07:52 | Dollar yen under 116, nice! | el_duderino_7885
05/1/2017 00:42 | Dollar yen spiking down. Hence sharp spike up for gold to $1168 just now. Dollar yen at critical support. If it goes below 116 it'll be very good for gold. | el_duderino_7885
05/1/2017 00:01 | Gold clearly now through the recent short-term daily highs & I anticipate a 1300 near-term target.Indexes are ridiculously over-bought. Trump inauguration (if he dodges any bullets) should see the highs before a harsh drop back to reality | mattjos
04/1/2017 13:03 | Nice pic of "that meeting" What do you suppose they chatted about at that meeting? Any opinions? | jbravo2
04/1/2017 12:36 | Or it's not plugged in. | bsg
04/1/2017 12:12 | Think there is a lot of water in the kettle! | jbe81
03/1/2017 22:57 | When the company was set up sununu was involved, however to keep things simple the psc was copied from the o+g standard one which now seems like a horrible idea given that oil can be produced in the country for a small fraction of the sale price whereas gold has an all in cost of nothing like that fraction, a matter that was rectified with the chovdar psc... I would hope that if we get close to having to pay more than the 12 pct some renegotiation happens .... | catsick
03/1/2017 22:41 | AAZ certainly don't seem to have been in receipt of any favours Catsick, many years of hard graft just to cut a profit!! | zhockey
03/1/2017 22:15 | Interesting article on bloomberg today on how the regime in Azerbaijan do as much as they can to provide money/help to any entities linked to US politicians that they can to keep them sweet with the US. Such as consulting contracts with Podestas company and lavish events at trumps hotels, they have been doing this for a long time, george bushes ex chief of staff is a big early shareholder in a certain gold mining company, amazing they dished out one of the least generous psc contracts to his company though, maybe that needs to be addressed at some point, especially given more generous ones dished out later .... | catsick |
