Gold clearly now through the recent short-term daily highs & I anticipate a 1300 near-term target.Indexes are ridiculously over-bought. Trump inauguration (if he dodges any bullets) should see the highs before a harsh drop back to reality

What do you suppose they chatted about at that meeting?
Any opinions?

When the company was set up sununu was involved, however to keep things simple the psc was copied from the o+g standard one which now seems like a horrible idea given that oil can be produced in the country for a small fraction of the sale price whereas gold has an all in cost of nothing like that fraction, a matter that was rectified with the chovdar psc... I would hope that if we get close to having to pay more than the 12 pct some renegotiation happens ....

AAZ certainly don't seem to have been in receipt of any favours Catsick, many years of hard graft just to cut a profit!!

Interesting article on bloomberg today on how the regime in Azerbaijan do as much as they can to provide money/help to any entities linked to US politicians that they can to keep them sweet with the US. Such as consulting contracts with Podestas company and lavish events at trumps hotels, they have been doing this for a long time, george bushes ex chief of staff is a big early shareholder in a certain gold mining company, amazing they dished out one of the least generous psc contracts to his company though, maybe that needs to be addressed at some point, especially given more generous ones dished out later ....

My new target is 60p down from £1, but this is dependent upon gold getting back above 1250, positive news on Ugur and production expansion.

Lets hope a sizeable flotation expansion will be anounced to get coper production up.

POG is all over the place atmo. Could quite easily re-treat again . I think i should stop trying to predict anything and just wait until what happens , happens. Not long until year update and news on production.. no further comment for once .. that will please some im sure!!!!

Could get it for much less soon... that 'spike upwards' before Xmas was on very small volume. Moving back down again. Could go lower than 20p imo before results mid jan

POG is also very high up in that table, extremely undervalued especially now it's refinanced.

Instability likely to support gold above that and FED rises may not materialise if dow 20000 holds not IMO.

Larry Edelson is one of foremost gold traders in USA and so far has been nearly spot on for gold. His articles are here but of course they always offer paid for information.

His neural networks supercomputer somehow plots likely future in markets etc with rise and fall. Now predicts coming together of many cycles pushing in same direction leading to a supercrisis in the near future with war and conflict.
worth a look I think, I use free stuff: educational stuff interesting too.

Larry thinks inversion possible with massive bounce from 900-1000 dollar gold.

Happy New Year to all here.

Would strongly suggest any readers of this thread take the time to read Chipperford's thread called, "Gold: small/mid-cap Stock Comparisons" (ADVFN ticker is CHIP)

In the header of his thread there are two tables, the most recent one is entitled "VALUE Composite Table of PM Producers. TOTAL = relative valuation.

If you look at AAZ, it scores as follows:

Price to Earnings: 23 *
Price to Book (Net Assets): 4
Price to Sales: 1
Ev/EBITDA (Enterprise Value to Earnings before Int, Tax, Depn & Amort: 3
Price to Cash Flow: 1

TOTAL: 32

* This is obviously based on historical data from last year figures. Will change dramatically lower when FY16 figures are released.

Price to Sales and Price to Cashflow values look plain ridiculous at this level.

As a 'benchmark' Chip has indicated the values for the S&P 500 average.
S&P Ave. Price to Sales is 7
S&P Ave. Price to Cashflow is 28

Agreed, AAZ will struggle to achieve that sort of valuation but, if you look at the likes of Shanta & Orosur & any other comparison miner you can think of, Chip's table really rams it home just how lowly rated AAZ still is, despite the rise from 5p to 20p over the course of the last 12-13 months
