10/10/2011 08:36 | LOL ...31st even ? | ignoble
10/10/2011 08:34 | Taking that logic forward, I think I'd like the divi on the 30th! | keithfox
09/10/2011 22:49 | Maybe 16p on the 16th lol. | battlebus2
09/10/2011 18:17 | Last year we had 11p declared on the 11/11 ...wonder if 12p on the 12/12 is a possibility ... No doubt they will do the unexpected one way or another | ignoble
09/10/2011 18:16 | Some chap named James Madden of Exacta Long Range Forecasting is quoted on AOL as saying snow begins in November through to January and in large quantities plus horribly low temperatures through to Feb 2012. He does not paint a rosy picture for the winter ! | ignoble
03/10/2011 19:26 | Plus LSC has a good few million or so in the Bank.... "The Governor" must be 92 years old or so , surely he must be taking it easy soon and letting his son's take the reins. | ignoble
03/10/2011 17:53 | However, as far as returning value to shareholders is concerned, it's mostly returning value to the governor! If he wants £20m, then he has it as in 2 yrs ago, even when the company didn't have it! So, the timing and rate of fund returns is down to his needs and therefore not easy to forecast. Nice to know the money is there though and eventually it'll be shared out! | keithfox
02/10/2011 20:35 | tks Keith , wise words as ever | ignoble
02/10/2011 10:52 | Sorry lads, been away for a while. My view:- As predicted, the weather has been a disaster as far as asy are concerned. Last winter finished in over the New Year with Jan- Mar staying mild. The year has been generally dry right through, especially over the southern half, so no help to the pumps with no flooding events either. The summer was the coolest since 1993, so no help there. The 2 record breaking events of the year...the warm spring and the Indian Summer are no help because 1. temperatures in the spring never really got high enough to stimulate demand. It was close for time, but then the cool weather came in. 2. the Indian Summer is too late in the season to stimulate demand. All that is left now is an early start to the winter. Fingers crossed on that. However, aside from the weather these results are very encouraging! If they can come in with a yearly post tax profit of £8 or 9m with the weather and the economy totally against them, it bodes very well for the future. They are adding about £9m a year to funds and seem to be cautiously expanding their depots abroad. In this age of low interest rates and twitchy markets I don't think there are many better places to put your cash really. Especially as there is likely to be a nice little divi soon. They could easily afford 5 or 10p as an interim and another 10p at the finals and still have well over £5m funds. All in all, definitely accumulate! | keithfox
29/9/2011 22:27 | hope so .. | ignoble
29/9/2011 20:15 | Could we be buying more shares today a few traded at 181.5. | battlebus2
29/9/2011 14:02 | London Security earnings out ...had a positive 6 months & stock up 50p or so... Jusy think, in 10 years time we may be talking of Sykes as we are LSC (hopefully) £17 per share would do nicely , lol ... | ignoble
28/9/2011 08:42 | Tks for that Jeff ....must admit that the Sykes' management seem to be very effective and ahead of the game. | ignoble
28/9/2011 08:40 | Aye, no harm done and the Euro didn't help the bottom line. Love to know how the U.S.side does on the profit front ....as far as I'm aware, we never hear about that side of things and i believe they have a small operation in Florida. | ignoble
28/9/2011 08:39 | The Pension Surplus is building up nicely - now up to £2.4m. Sounds as though at some point it will be re-paid to the company. Interesting article on ASY and winter heating hire:- | jeff h
28/9/2011 08:27 | Credible set of results given the weather hasn't really been on our side. Healthy cash flows and reasonably bullish going forward. Nice to see further expansion on a controlled basis. Perhaps Mr Murray will be back in the market for more stock. Falls too much I will back in hoovering up stock. | horndean eagle
28/9/2011 07:49 | Day early ignoble. Fair results revenue similar to last but profits down a little. Cash reserves increased substantially so a certainly a divi to look forward too. | battlebus2
25/9/2011 16:08 | See Sykes reported their 6 months figures on the 29th September last year . Similar this year Battle ? | ignoble
25/9/2011 11:22 | Weather forecasts look strange ...heating up for the next week or so to very unseasonable highs but then we drop off very quickly into a horribly cold October and November ... Is that in line with your understanding Keith ? | ignoble
23/9/2011 13:00 | Tks gents ! | ignoble
23/9/2011 09:00 | "can live without the pun (net)" lol! | jeff h
23/9/2011 08:44 | Yes any day now they'll surprise us. | battlebus2
23/9/2011 08:23 | Guess we can't be too far away from the interims . | ignoble
23/9/2011 08:21 | Tks for the post Jeff ...can live without the pun(net) LOL | ignoble
23/9/2011 08:19 | Seems we have the strawberries:- ...now us shareholders just need the cream! (sorry about that one!) | jeff h |
