I think you have some misconceptions about how commodity markets work. First, some 80-85% of Nickel is used for production of stainless steel. That percentage has held fairly constant over the past 15 years since AMC started looking for the stuff. For while Ni-metal hydroxide batteries were all the rage, but that technology moves really fast. Batteries have always been less than 10%. The other 5% is in "specialty applications" - chemicals and the like.

Second, Norilsk Nickel, BHP and other major players all have multiple mines and are major traders on the global markets. They do have marketing arms that try to work out supply contracts with major buyers, but the actual metal they deliver may or may not be from one of their own mines.

Finally, you may be right that AMC will need to give up more than 50%. The deal structure a lot of junior miners make is they agree to a majority buyout (or a complete buyout) with a royalty to the shareholders. At this stage, the company may or may not have to raise additional capital. Robert Friedland sold Voisey's bay in this way and that deal was worth several billion. Kun Manie is a monster, but not as rich as Voiseys Bay. Its NPV in the forthcoming feasibility is going to be billions.

Now, at the current share price, AMC has a market cap of around $42 million. Think of that as the option price on a call over the NPV of AMC's share of any future deal. I would be amazed if they could not get $100 million for the whole company today, and would expect them to be able to get much more for an asset that is as derisked and large as this one is.

So, I'm bullish. I'm long AMC, and I do miss the rampers who used to play on this board. Helped us all make some money.

SOlis - think it's worth considering that the difference between a finance director and a CFO is splitting hairs a bit. He was listed on the directors purchasing scheme so I think a book keeper is probably down playing. That said it's interesting as to why this is not one of the infamous closed periods. Good question for FAQ I think.

Loganair,You say giving away half to get the mine into production as though it should frighten people from investing here. Quite amusing. Quick calcs on that basis return a dividend equivalent to circa 1 pound per share.The added bonus is that the site still has huge exploration potential in many directions as well as adjacent fields they will be favourably placed for as a first mover to the region. Those who have been investing could be looking at hundreds of thousands per year in dividends for the next 40 years

mad - Quite honestly even though you have the right to your opinion I feel it is complete nonsense as proven by the current share price and the continued massive share dilution.

Some of the big miners are starting to specifically get into Nickle and Cobalt production for Lithium Batteries which is way ahead, 5 years ahead of AMC.

AMC have a world class asset however they'll have to give half of it away to another company for that company to pay for and get the mine into production.
