I think Guinness benefits from being popular in a bar, ie where it doesn't spend much time sitting in the pipes

"...there surely must be "good" pints of Guinness…."

I sorry to say that as far as my palate is concerned that's an oxymoron. I find the stuff very very unappealing. Give me a pint of real ale any day.

Kev you have just mentioned an excellent pint of Guinness.

May I ask a question that has been troubling me for years.

I have heard this expression many times. However excellence is, to my mind, a relative term. Which means that there surely must be "good" pints of Guinness, "average" pints of Guinness, "not so good" pints of Guinness and "bleedin' awful" pints of Guinness.

However, in all my visits to Ireland I have never come across anyone mentioning the latter three categories. Can't work it out.

Did though once have an "abominable" pint of Guinness in the "Moon on the Square". - But what else would you expect in Basildon

Well funny you should mention that earnest. I'm 6ft4 1/2(important half that) inches. I was thinking this year of going as a pygmy. Am I likely to be taken seriously?

(Please no linked comments about intellect).

The smallest pub in Dublin is the Confession Box on Marlboro Street:

Excellent pint of Guinness.

Super here in the Royal county of Meath also Gerry, with the fresh green leaves looking so well against the blue sky.

Dublin is looking beautiful to-day tauroctinus. Just leaving Heuston station on route to Ballina. What are you like Bun, you know you're going to be asking the thread for directions to the venue in London on the 19th complaining about the taxi meter. Will this be the 4th or 5th year in the wrong City..lol.

normal dress is a tux with a black tie for men or a ball gown for women

That must be why no one has ever taken me seriously at an AGM when I've turned up in my reasonably clean trousers and t shirt :-)! (Though I always seem to have been dressed like the majority)

It's always a concern if visitors to my native city can't get their hands on a drink.
If a difficulty arises, there is always the Dawson Lounge, just around the corner from St Stephan's Green Club at 25 Dawson St. I have never been there, but while I have heard good reports, I should warn that it is said to be the smallest pub in Dublin. I hope Capt Haddock would approve.

Bb2 - who's suggested that you "dress for a business meeting"?
thegreatgeraldo

Actually a more serious answer for anyone who has never attended an AGM before….

normal dress is a tux with a black tie for men or a ball gown for women

alternative is academic robes and these can be worn over a tux or a lounge suit or a less formal dress

If you arrive wearing a kilt don't be surprised if people assume you are haggismchaggis and ask you if you're wearing shorts…..

Likewise if you come in a top hat and displaying a long waxed moustache, carrying a magic wand and accompanied by a beautiful assistant in tights, then it's only natural that people will take you for The Great Geraldo.

I'll be easy to recognise. I'll have my French version of a bowler hat and will be consulting my pendulum and I might be accompanied by my young reporter friend and his west highland white terrier. If my other nautical friend comes along you'll need to be fast off the mark to get your hands on a drink…...

I'm more concerned about what does dress for a business meeting actually mean. Would black shoes and smart (unripped, washed) dungarees be acceptable? I don't own a suit.

Never mind the debate about what to wear, what do we need to ask!

A few questions for starters:

1.what are the plans to address the reservoir depletion concerns at KN-1. How much Capex will be needed?
2. When will the spud for Ntorya-3 happen?
3. Are there any New gas contracts in the pipeline for 2017 h2?
4. What is Nyuni update?? Does it require a placing / farm out and what is the current status?
5. The share price had a recent large drop due to the Sales by PT, why was that not managed better e.g. Other board members buy some? ( seems they have now TBC)
