And here are the fuller versions with Tanesco threatening Songas together with an indication of the role of TPDC:

Meanwhile, as a recent link indicated Symbion are also owed a ton of money by Tanesco resulting in them not paying one of their major equipment suppliers and being sued for mega bucks. (Interesting to note too what Bod Diamond is up to now and where)

I don't know how this will affect Orca who supply gas to Songas/Umungo, but we know that Tanesco has a new gas suppler's now, via the TPDC.

"TANESCO has allayed fears on the possibility of electricity rationing following the decision by one of the major independent power producers, Songas Tanzania Limited, to suspend operations at the Ubungo Power Plant in Dar es Salaam."

"According to the producer, its decision to suspend operations at the 189-MW plant has come after the alleged failure by the Tanzania Electric Supply Company to settle debts amounting to 90 million US dollars"

"Since 2004, the Ubungo Power Plant has been a major player in the electricity sector, generating about 20 per cent of power supplied to the national grid," Mr Whittaker stated. The gas-fired turbines at Ubungo produce power using natural gas piped from gas fields in Songo Songo Island, Lindi Region."

Investor?

What's one of those?

I thought this was a virtual meeting place for poor fascinated, but ultimately deluded, souls.

Denizens of a murky world called Aminex.

Though I suppose, in a nod to Tanzania's colonial history, you could wear a pith helmet, khaki shorts etc?

I'm sorry but I don't own any world bank reports. I have never worked for the world bank. I am currently unemployed. There is clearly some confusion here.

Are you really sure he didn't write it, Warbaby?

I detect the 'ole Bun humour in the World Bank report and have my suspicions.
