Big PR job by our RAK friends but nonetheless brings back with a shudder the dreadful memory of Kea's Pukka-3 just over a year ago. Let's just hope that Ns 2&3 don't do a Kea

Definition of ‘Flag’ (Investopedia)

A technical charting pattern that looks like a flag with a mast on either side. Flags result from price fluctuations within a narrow range and mark a consolidation before the previous move resumes. Likewise, “pennant” formations are usually treated like flag formations because they are very similar in appearance, tend to show up at the same place in an existing trend, and have the same volume and measuring criteria.

20130607-001942.jpg

Flags and pennants are among the most reliable of continuation patterns and only rarely produce a trend reversal. The only difference between the two patterns is that a flag resembles a parallelogram (or rectangle) marked by two parallel trend lines that tend to slope against the prevailing trend. The pennant, however, is identified by two converging trend lines and more horizontal which resembles a small symmetrical triangle. The important thing to remember is that they are both characterized by diminishing trade volume and though different, the measuring implications are the same for both patterns as demonstrated in the above illustration.

Definition of ‘Pennant’ (Investopedia)

A continuation pattern in technical analysis formed when there is a large movement in a stock, the flagpole, followed by a consolidation period with converging trendlines, the pennant, followed by a breakout movement in the same direction as the initial large movement, the second half of the flagpole.

20130607-002153.jpg

As can be seen in the above picture, there is a large rise in the stock, followed by a converging consolidation period that resembles a pennant and a resulting continuation of the initial trend.

Pennants, which are similar to flags in terms of structure, have converging trendlines during their consolidation period and they last from one to three weeks. The volume at each period of the pennant is also important. The initial move must be met with large volume while the pennant should have weakening volume, followed by a large increase in volume during the breakout.

tipjunkie, "thats the biggest and most sustained diminishing flag pennant i have ever seen on a chart"

So is that good or bad? because that trend what ever its called' also accompanies the time from when Wentworth first issued the Signing of their Long-term GSA back last September, which caused the initial AEX shares to spike on the anticipated likewise news, and from then on the consequent long and tiresome wait that AEX share holders have had to endure before the signed GSA is announced, which hopefully will not be much longer and then that diminishing flag pennant will be of little relevance as the share price seeks out its new value. every picture tells a story or should I say the story makes the picture.

Agreed edgar222 and it runs in parallel with "Better for all to be equal albeit poorer rather than all be richer but unequal"

A Labour Party heading down the path of irrelevance has just moved onto the final lap.

(Might even see an AEX GSA before Labour becomes electable again)

How long before we see a breakaway/ new party like we did with David Owen, Shirley Williams et al a few decades ago.

Wentworth presentation. TPDC Gas aggregator•Construction of new gas receiving station nearly complete•Immediate demand of ~50 mmcf/d from existing power producers–Power plants are currently capable of using natural gas•New Kinyerezi-1 power station will require ~30 mmscf/day by June •Access to industrial demand –e.g. Dangoti Cement plant ~20 mmscf/d•Demand from power producers of up to ~130 mmcf/d by mid-2016•Demand from power producers over next five years expected to be in excess of 450 mmcf/d

Not sure about some of these figures. 0.01 mscf per 1kWh seems to be an accepted figure (including, I believe allowance for efficiency). Assuming 24 hr max output that would imply around 36mmscfd for 150MW at Kinyerezi 1. (24hrs * 10scf(per kWh) * 150,000(MW capacity)).

Seems like that figure might be a bit low. Wentworth (Sept presentation, slide 3) say demand from existing and new(K1 presumably) powerstations is expected to be 120mmscfd in 2016, rising to 475mmscfd by 2018, and further beyond.

There is also existing industrial use of gas on top of power generation, and that is expected to grow, but I'm not sure how big that is.
