Just vote NO and see what happens. If the bid goes ahead at least you will know you have done your bit.
I am not so sure it is a done deal.

it does make you wonder where these shares are going if these disclosures are a fair and accurate record.

These days it wouldn't surprise me at all if it is our self serving Directors or an offshore vehicle for them if they are now in a closed period.

I'm an allrounder Eddie :)

I try and view developments on their merits. I didn't see the point of this Malcy blog entry which begs the question why did he think it important enough to repeat or who encouraged him to.

I haven't changed my mind on how I'll vote (yet), that'll only happen if another player shows their hand.

Malcys post is very random given there was no RNS and gives no personal opinion, just reiterates what the random unknown US broker has said.Take your own conclusions from this.It is clear he is a creature of the BOD. Trust in Malcy = zeroMalcy credibility = zero

My message to Malcy today:

How can you give credence to that derisory offer and recommendation for the acceptance of the sale of Amerisur.
The day BEFORE release of the RNS strongly advising shareholders to take 'NO ACTION IN RESPECT OF THEIR SHARES, as the offer was SIGNIFICANTLY UNDERVALUED,' we could have sold at just short of 18p. On the day of RNS we could have sold for 19.32p. On the following two trading days we could have taken between 19.88 and 19.9. Therefore, at the board's best we PI's have been advised to hang on for a 'significant' 1.1 p. At the worse we were advised to hang on for a loss 'until completion of FSP.' Can they justify walking away from this disaster by claiming that the market has nothing to do with them, when they have instructed 'shareholders' to hold onto their 'shares' until completion of the FSP? Even if this action is legal, it is morally indefensible. Shame on your support for this BOD

Must admit my reaction to Malcy's comment was 'why is this US broker's opinion relevant / important enough to report on'? Perhaps BoD are worried as acv74 suggests. I'm still inclined to vote for the offer though given these clowns will still be in charge if deal doesn't go through.

If the BOD are resorting to these sort of underhand tactics they must be worried.Keep voting NO guys.

Lol at Malcy's post.Clearly just parroting the BOD view and proving he is bought and paid for.All after weeks of being quiet on the subject. I did email him in that period, which he failed to respond to.Just cancelled my membership to his emails, lost any shred of credibility with me.

"ISS Corporate Services has reported on the recommended cash offer of 19.21p for Amerisur Resources by GeoPark saying that the ‘shareholder support for the transaction is considered warranted’. This is based on a ‘significant premium offered to company’s shareholders, it has a cash consideration bringing certainty of value to shareholders and no other concerns have been identified’. Considering all these matters ISS have recommended the management proposal to shareholders.

The board has received a number of proposals and accepted an offer that was over 50% above the three month VWAP, in that respect it is appropriate that the offer is accepted by shareholders"

Surely the BOD should be advising shareholders of all these "proposals"

I'll probably do the same to be honest, just waiting for gap between share price and offered price to close as deadline approaches to minimise 'cost' of that insurance!

RTD,

Yes, you're probably right and I'm not selling everything in the expectation of a No vote succeeding. I'm "buying" insurance against a share price fall on a "No" vote. The cost for that insurance is the difference between my sell price and the bid price.

"...unless you want to reduce risk/exposure"

Exactly what I'm doing.

@al101uk #25475 ~ Geopark have indicated they're prepared to go the takeover route so even if the 75% scheme threshold fails, the lower 50%+ is unlikely to. They don't need to raise bid unless another player enters the frame. Why sell in that scenario, you'll get the 19.21 anyway? If Geopark chose to withdraw entirely that's a different matter. So for either yes or no camps selling isn't the answer unless you want to reduce risk/exposure.

If Corbyn gets in on Friday and pounds falls sharply, as I suspect it would, I'd vote against this deal too as it would be worth that much less with depreciated currency.

Selling is only rationale if you don't believe a "No" vote will be good for the share price and that is your sole criteria for your intended "Yes" vote.

If you're voting "No", obviously the rational thing is to hold for two reasons:

1) If the vote goes for you, you get what you wanted and you were able to participate in the vote.

2) The worst that can happen is that the vote goes against you and you get 19.2p instead of 18.xp.
