Stifel have been stiffed!
That or they're a useless second tier bookie!

I see, they all talk it up in cahoots, but the data room tells a different story.
Books are cooked, cash disappeared, hence 19p and no one else interested.

Stifel are adviser & broker to AMER so perhaps just talking up their own client?

tgg ~ I'm inclined to agree, if it was a stinker (for AMER) GPRK shares would have risen. The various interested parties have picked AMER's potential apart and come to the conclusion that 19.21p was the right price and the others have seemingly walked away. Perhaps we're the ones who have overestimated what AMER's really worth?

I'll vote for the deal and move on, disappointed sure but it could have been far worse with no party interested and share price slumping ever closer to single figures...

I wonder if the slight ongoing erosion of the share price is indicative of uncertainty that the deal will get 75% of the vote?Is anyone well connected, are there whispers of how the II's are going to vote? The people/II's who did the placing a couple of years ago are well under water, I doubt they think the derisory 19.21p is an "attractive proposition".

If it's such an awful deal, why haven't shares of GPRK gone thru the roof? It's quite a big deal for them, setting what they're paying against their m/cap

Its beginning to look like we might have the guns to go for this.
Well done ML and all those who have put their shareholdings behind this.

Another angle to think of.
Geo realise they will not get enough shareholders supporting the offer and provide a sweetener to shareholders get the deal through.
Not sure how likely but I have seen it before.

yes. With all those sellers someone is mopping them up. The more sellers the less can vote against. Self defeating until and unless a vote is only on the deal notified

I suspect they'll just edge this lower each day so by the time we do get a vote we'll see 19.21p as a vast improvement. Unless IIs show a willingness to vote against it'll go through anyway.

Morning all, just woken up and read the emails. A quick calculate suggests we now have around 60M pledged support to reject the bid.

Yes 60M.

I Reiterate that it's not straight forward to vote this down, you have to instruct your broker, they won't come looking for you!

Surely, along with cooking the books, these charlatans will have had the cash away.

Nice post Andrew! However,..... I await such an explanation from them.

I wish you the very best with that optimistic thought! Somehow, given their track record, you may be waiting in vain!
