04/10/2019 13:05 | Prior to the bid the share price had been stagnating between 12p and 14p for around 6 months and while we all thought this was hugely undervalued, it was obviously there for a reason. To now expect a "minimum" of 38p per share is quite frankly ridiculous, especially in the current market. I do hope I'm wrong but I just can't see why anyone would pay a huge premium when the shares have been available in the open market for so long without anyone giving them a second look....... | ![]() ladeside
04/10/2019 12:32 | The share price reflects the value of the only bid on offer, the mysterious involvement of Michinoko and the continued malign influence Giles Clarke and his board of half wits have over the company. It would be silly to push it much higher while there is a possibility that the status quo continues after negotiations are done, if the board holds out for more. It is amazing that it has held up so well, given the general swoon in the oil price, stock market slumps and the amazing fact that Donal Trump has still not been assassinated - politically or actually. It in no way reflects the potential break up value, and the positive contribution, over and above pure N.A.V. which the components can add to buyers. In much the same way as drilling results are only priced in once they are announced, the current share price will only move up once the interested parties reveal themselves. It won't be long now. | ![]() lucyp00p
04/10/2019 12:14 | You may well be right and if you are nobody will be more pleased than me but 38p is a hell of a jump from 17p!. | ![]() bryet
04/10/2019 12:01 | Looks like no way this will go for 30p or above mid 20s could be the take out price I may be wrong usually am so hoping I keep to my track record good luck to everyone another week closer to finding out. | ![]() bryet
04/10/2019 10:56 | acv74, you got it in one share options have the same value as tripe | ![]() notimpressed
04/10/2019 10:52 | What tripe. Share options as part of a sale???If it's a part cash part shares offer, and the shares are in a decent company, eg Oxy, I'm cool with that. | ![]() acv74

04/10/2019 09:13 | whatever the offer price if one materialises, it only counts if it is a cash offer. share options are to be avoided like the plague. | ![]() notimpressed
04/10/2019 08:16 | Thanks for the thoughts. I was hoping I might have been able to exit AMER somewhere in the low/mid 20p's. It has been an awful stock the couple of years I have owned it. But I am starting to think anything above the high teens is a forlorn hope actually. | ![]() frederickbloggs

04/10/2019 07:38 | Worth remembering m&p bid was when the oil price was a fair bit higher. However given the interested parties a bid over 20p would seem likely unless DD has shown up something very bad. | ![]() nigelpm
04/10/2019 07:17 | The bid was considered by management to significantly undervalue the company and led to the FSP. Maurel & Prom who originally bid have opted into the FSP and presentations to those involved in the FSP are ongoing (AMER management have used the phrase multiple parties). That is my take on where we are currently - HTH | ![]() yasrub
04/10/2019 07:09 | Is a bid above 17p effectively dead in the water? I haven't paid much attention to AMER the last couple of weeks. | ![]() frederickbloggs
03/10/2019 19:33 | ACV. Normally vested options carry a tax liability immediately as far as UK tax goes, but if the shares are offshore I doubt that applies | ![]() foiledagain
03/10/2019 18:57 | They vest and are exercised immediately before sale of Amer and JW gets a lovely tax free gain in his offshore company....simples. | ![]() acv74
03/10/2019 18:53 | Share options are almost always allowed to be exercised upon sale of the company. | ![]() acv74
03/10/2019 18:32 | Because of the vesting conditions without which, they don't have value if I understand their granting correctly. Q | ![]() quidnunc
03/10/2019 17:52 | Quidnunc with respect I fail to see how moving shares into an offshore vehicle imminently before the company is sold is evidence that JW is staying. Your conclusion does not compute with me at all. | ![]() acv74
03/10/2019 16:28 | I certainly do not concur with your conclusion Quid. There is absolutely no reason for JW to stay. You were at the AGM where he said "we're not getting any younger" and referred to the piece of paper with a walk away price written on it.Any successful bid for the whole company, would crystallise all or most options allocated, which, together with the shares already held, would make him a wealthy, very wealthy or EXTREMELY wealthy man, albeit with a barrowful of Ironveld shares and a smelting plant in the middle of nowhere. Any attachment to Amerisur would be at his own discretion. Of course he may start a new venture and, if GC is not on board, I would happily invest. If we don't sell, which is probably fine with everybody right now with oil at 57, he, like us all, are stuck here until fate or debt shows us the door. | ![]() lucyp00p
03/10/2019 15:04 | Quidnunc I think you explained it once before and its a very valid way of going about things. It can often provide the catalyst to a problem | ![]() foiledagain
03/10/2019 14:53 | FA, I always need to explore the alternate hypothesis, as much to provoke my own thinking as anyone else's. That's not to say I hold any POV that I put forward and I'm always interested in the considered responses of others. The timing of the rns and JWs purpose are key to unlocking this. The vesting move confirms that JW will be involved whether Amer is sold or goes it aloneIMO & that Amer will continue as a separate entityQ | ![]() quidnunc
03/10/2019 11:21 | I also have 650k shares but wont be adding !. Its enough for me despite what seems such a cheap price to top up. With Giles Clarke you just never know what is happening. I still have a feeling that the result of the Strategic Review is to carry on as they are. I just cant see the reason why it,would take share price long before a firm offer is made. | ![]() underhill2
03/10/2019 11:04 | Couldn't resist a few more. Up to 650k | ![]() acv74 |
