Andrew - no offer has been made to buy Ironveld (yet).

Also even though Amer not drilling, the flows of cash coming in are not being spent so the cash pile should grow quite well during this period...

The main problem is that Ironveld will soon run out of cash. That cant be said of Amerisur. What is common to both is the lack of any updates relating to the strategic reviews.

The advice to shareholders to "take no action" is still coming up on this bb as if it had some kind of significance. It does not. It is standard in this situation, maybe even obligatory. It is definitely not a nudge-nudge, wink-wink from GC, assuming he was capable of such a thing.

There is a difference between 8.3s and 8.5s.

The former are "genuine" changes in holdings, whilst the latter are just the brokers' (Stifel, Arden and Investec) daily dealings:the brokers don't either start off or end up with holdings. Little importance should be attached to these (unless the numbers are significant, when it may be an indication of insider information and that is precisely why they have to declare these daily dealings).

Worth sharing this post from Stmellons28 for posterity.

Rossan, Don’t worry Amer will be sold before Xmas & it will hit the dizzy heights of 30p plus. I know GC he is a master at getting fantastic deals & will not be bullied into selling Amer on the cheap.

We can see how close to the final figure the pretty confident (bold parts leave any doubts out of the discussion and it sounds as a "given") statement of 30p+ turns out to be down the line.

I personally have no idea and will just wait. No point speculating really. We smaller shareholders cannot do anything about the outcome and have to "trust" JW when he says shareholders should take no action. Would look pretty poor if he said that and the talk of low ball management buyouts and low take-out offer from another party was the result!

The government may be selling more licenses, but the best ones are already taken. And guess which company holds licenses for some very attractive chunks of good acreage. Why, our very own Amerisur. In this situation, never mind the share price my boy, look at the assets already....

The OBA is designed to handle 50K/day. The pipeline diameter is right sized. Just needs further investment in pumping stations if I understand correctly.

The OBA must have a value of at least $50m based on 9000 capacity, with a saving of £5 per barrel and a three year payback. possibly much more if someone believes they can get throughput up to the pumping capacity of 18k bopd.

I searched for the colombia oil deals (to get the reference metrics). nothing major came up. why? because the government is actively selling exploration licenses in order to triple the oil produced. there lies the game. imo

amer will be one of the few (if) sold (not knowing the rest). but amer has a very important strategic asset for this kind of environment - OBA.

if all of a sudden colombia really drills much more oil - it will need infrastructure - which needs time to be build. and amer has it at hand.

possible golden goose

If the market was that smart, why was it pricing this at 12p when 17p correctly prices the M & P interest?

Stifel is unlikely to be miles off the mark: they have a reputation to maintain.

Quite straightforwardly, their valuation is a sum of the parts (and investors should remind themselves of the NPV for Mariposa and Indico) and there may be a small discount for taking the company as a whole, but equally there could be a premium for the hope value, highly discounted for COS in their calculations.

Looking at AMER as an embryonic Parex, this must be of interest to enough of the decent sized players in Colombia to at least achieve fair value.

That information is reported among directors sharedealings. It's been quiet on that front recently because we only just reached the trigger point and they must be in a closed period now.

Depends on who you define as ‘we’. It probably doesn’t matter anyway - as us PIs have no influence over the process or the outcome, so we might as well go off and amuse ourselves with something else while we wait.

I believe this will be sold before Xmas for 35p minimum. The big guns are out in Columbia as we speak & GC is a shrewd customer when negotiating a great deal for us all.

They would have paid tax on the 'benefit' within the PAYE month of the Options being exercised.
They usually did this by selling sufficient to cover the tax. But as Al said, they would not be out of pocket.
