I believe Lucy is spot on 👍 time will tell if we are right. I like others would love to speed the process up but takeovers sometimes drag on & on 😩 GC will get us a great deal & if this is his last business adventure he will want to go out on a high.

Stmellons28 - You can't be sure what you say is factual, either on the time line (insinuates a few weeks as in short time but in fact may be many many weeks as in long time) or take-out price if indeed that proves to be the eventual outcome. Nobody knows the end-game here other than some BOD members and some of the parties involved. Hope you are correct but your statement comes across as being a bit "rampy" IMHO. Back to waiting......

This share is a bargain at 17p, I am topping up at every opportunity & why not ? We are weeks away of the sale going through 30p min to 45 max yet sum people sell ? Hang in there guys as Amer will provide us all with a fantastic Xmas.

Whether we like to believe it or not, there are those in the City who get to know everything. The doldrums in the share price work in their interest, provides more opportunity to make even more profits in the doldrum period.

As soon as they get a sniff of sell the share price will move accordingly.

Joint bidders forming partnership. ONGC & Occi

ONGC know precisely what is in CPO-5 and I did not trust the last well result with the delay in the next well adding to that distrust.

Would form a really good buy between them. ONGC already announced it was looking for more assets in Colombia, and Oxy would be ideal partner, with the pipeline adding even more attraction

I'm still wandering around Brian's old haunts. He'd have been gutted to see the local small businesses steamrollered and the place turned into a theme park in the same way he was concerned about the treatment and opportunities for the locals in Columbia but the current situation in the gulf puts both opportunity and pressure on the other oil producing nations and they in turn on their operators. I can't see Amer going for a song in this climateQ

TD - listen to Kirby - Greg Hunter. US shale "eats" USD in losses and make them disappear. The USD that are coming home from the world stage A world that is ditching USD in international trade more and more.

Hence there is no inflation in US due to overflow of the returning dollars. As they are removed in shale losses and other sterilizations.

Charlie, why are looking up definition of several then suggesting MANY is the same as MULTIPLE? Different words, different meanings.

Cash is used for more than just drilling: endless consultations and seismics.

That leg work, already done both from a time and cash point of view, is what the multiple parties will be assessing when looking at AMER, as well as the prospectivity. The easiest way of illustrating is to see the planned spending of the OXY $93.5 million and it was not all on drilling.

The big plus in any takeover will be economies of scale: competitors already have a full management structure in place and this expensive overhead will be virtually eliminated in any takeover.

It cannot be long now, before potential bidders have to put up or shut up and that includes M & P who were active in getting this show on the road (possibly with encouragement from Colley AKA Michinoko)

Wonder if we will get an update shortly.

I want to know why in past few years projected drilling in presentations is fully funded but does not take place yet the Capex still seems to be used as if they were.

That seems to happen year after year unless I'm missing something. If you are not drilling what you forecast then wages should be far less, bonuses far less, directors fees far less and drilling costs far less.

There is a significant difference in the wording between IRON and AMER in recent RNSs

AMER

Management presentations with interested parties currently being held in Bogotá

IRON

Ironveld plc is pleased to announce that it has engaged positively with SEVERAL parties interested in potentially making an offer to purchase all or part of the Company's assets.
The parties with whom Ironveld has entered into confidentiality agreements have held discussions with management and conducted visits to the Company's site. Ironveld expects to advance these discussions in the coming weeks.

Basically, one is a scrum and the other, a couple on a Sunday afternoon stroll.

Well yes, they are saying a sale completed by Jan 2020 but they've also lost a string of directors and are slimming down bases to keep costs down and keep trading. None of those features currently figure in Amer that we know of although I note Lucy's concerns over cash position and cash in the bank Q

An update from Ironveld really does suggest that a major shareholder leaned on Giles to put Amer and Ironveld up for sale. That could validate the newspaper article about Mich prior to last AGM.
