Get your slicks on, the 20p 'safety car' may be about to leave the track!

thank you tradesmarter, much appreciated!

if it pulls back on (possibly) reduced Q4 volumes, when we get the AMER update, then maybe add/buy in size, as CPO 5 is the future.

Played with fire and took a very quick short term view on this, my technicals implied we needed to consolidate and that 20.5p would not be breached "immediately". I've been really suprised by the sheer strength of this and normally when a share doubles you'd get a retrace of one third, some cases 50%. BUT for me the pullback signalled 18.5p to 19p
or *worst case 16.5p* (backtest breakout and gap)

The move to 32-36p is very much still entact but felt this need a period of consolidation and some profit taking for the "health and strength" to be natural. I've been lucky trading out and nabbing 7% on ophr in a few days which allowed me to buy back 295000 this morning on the pullback at 19.25p, but had to buy in tranches of 50,000 and managed one at 100,000

Reminder that we are only just leaving base camp and once viewed with the stunning fundamental news and broker upgrades together with some good interviews and improved PR I quickly bought back in on the pullback

LAST VIEW was that we had gained strength and broken into a new higher trend and that 18.5-19p was my view of where we would find support

This morning this was "backtested" and when the spread narrowed I took my chance to get a bigger position back before heading to work

My best guess at what will happen next..we either "break back into orderly uptrend"

OR hoping we can all fly the flag!

the bigger picture 16p risk (backtest) for 60p gains

Until we approach 25/26 or 18.5-16 I'll take a wee break from the technical charting...best of luck and buy the morning dips seems to be the guidance, but I've tried to give an honest view on the bull case and also the short term risks . Sitting at 19/20p resistance comes with risk, but the rewards are soo compelling from my reserach ....As always the fundamentals are the driver of price and the technicals give you a heads up of where the traffic lights are on our journey to 60p.

what I like is this 20p arrangement - because it means large boys are "playing" it.they put energy into it so they think its worth the effort

just do not loose patience - they do it so you loose it and sell

@RollTheDice - agree with you; this last quarter's production may be poor, but that's now consigned to history my friend, it's borderline irrelevant given the size of the prize now presented in CPO5, let alone elsewhere! It should be well noted, the game has changed. I will continue to accumulate on any weakness sub 19p. Simply rude (and silly) not to.

o/t Do I hear a little #ECHO? ;o)
They could be right up there with AMER in this year's top performers league table.

A bidding "war" once the reserves are updated would not be restricted to 2 parties, but anybody looking at South America.... i.e. everybody. Well, probably not Aramco, but most others, which is why it's odd that this hasn't caught fire yet. Sadly, for me at least, the tax bill is coming around soon, so I'll have to sell a bit, but at least it hasn't tanked like it did last year........

This time next year we could easily be looking at £1, if not before, imo. CPO-5 looks like it will be a real game changer!
And with further consolidation likely in the industry, I think Amerisur could also become a very attractive target for an oil major like ONGC or OXY. Would be some sparkworks though if both were interested!!

Don't be tempted to sell guys long term players here want to or maybe last chance to top up sub 20p someone buying in here it will all come out pretty soon forget what profit they've made look to what they will be making this time next year, news very soon.

important is that Colombian president got involved as hopefully there will not be problems with further permitting needed. as I get it they can drill 4 more CPO5 fast but after that permitting pads .....

lifting costs bellow 10 usd + 8 usd discount to the brent sold at the well head + 2% royalty cost means that 2/3 of their share of production is pure before tax profit. or as he says 20 % of production is profit !!!

I wouldn't mind seeing Stifel's updated broker note. One would say Stifel is an appropriately named broker considering the stifling effect Rex Harbour's continued selling is having on AMER's market value....i'll get mi coat, the other one I keep spare just in case I have to repeat the process 'getting mi coat'...coats all over the place

Indico is much deeper than they could ever have hoped with read across implications for Mariposa as well as well as the near structures to be drilled from the Indico pad.

The first of these clearly remains on track for a Jan spud.

There's been a good start to the year; no surprise there's a pull-back market wise or stock wise. Still very good value imv.

Geremi - Stifel's immediate TP increase to 35p is good news indeed. But is the least one can expect when considering the likely size of CPO-5 that's now in play!
Good time to be buying more, imo.
