Not sure who’s timetable but the RNS made it clear the 28 day rules didn’t apply:

The Takeover Panel has granted a dispensation from the requirements of Rules 2.4(a), 2.4(b) and 2.6(a) of the Code such that any interested party participating in the formal sale process will not be required to be publicly identified as a result of this announcement (subject to note 3 to Rule 2.2 of the Code) and will not be subject to the 28 day deadline referred to in Rule 2.6(a) of the Code, for so long as it is participating in the formal sale process. Following this announcement, the Company is now considered to be in an "offer period" as defined in the Code, and the dealing disclosure requirements set out below will apply

Well, the 19 July was the Strategic review RNS published, with M&P offer, and tomorrow is 28 days later.

1. M&P announcement is not a FIRM OFFER under Rule 2.7 of the Takeover Code so M&P now has 28 days either to announce a firm offer or walk away. (TAKES US TO END OF AUGUST)
28 days from 19th July = 16th Aug.

2. They ANNOUNCE A FORMAL OFFER : they have up to 28 days to post FORMAL OFFER DOCUMENT to shareholders. (TAKES US TO END SEPT)

Could R and M be suppressing price on purpose and say get a fee elsewhere? Not saying it's happening at all but this is the aim....

Many thought that (piles of cash accumulating) before last set of results but it turned out that cash pile had diminished not grown... just saying :)

Hopefully something comes from corporate action or Indico-2 spuds and gets a positive result but wider market doesn't inspire confidence at the moment.

Being in profit on AMER didn't last long (a few hours)!!
