As I stated previously back when this all materialised.......multiple parties being interested means they will be prepared to outbid each other. These could soar once the official bids are announced. 35-40p seems a fair price when you do the maths!

I'm pretty sure this whole process will take months, so no need for the Rampers / Derampers to get their knickers in a twist as we'll have plenty of time to "stock up" or "offload" along the way........

Indico 2 drill next, Occidental drills etc, based on 5000k OBA levels we are at 7500bpd (additional 2500k CPO5)

12p was an aberration based on low liquidity.

17p is a firm bid received - so doubt much lower than that.

If higher bid arrives - base will be set at that level.

For sale price has been announced - and if turned down by board, the suitor can (and probably) will go hostile. Possibly multiple suitors in a bidding war away from strategic review away from any unrealistic levels the management might have in mind - 40-50p etc

Talkman2 - if AMER doesn't sell, it means that no one in the market believes in the values they are giving to their assets. And we will be back to 12p in no time. Look where other oilers are at the moment.

gemlotte55 - maybe, you are right. However, the directors are not allowed to buy if they know something the market doesn't. Hoping that at this stage, there isn't much more to know other than this morning's RNS except for the names of the companies involved. I do not think that they have started negotiating on the price yet. The bidders are still gathering information from AMER.

As usual, on this BB, some posters get too excited too easily, some even suggesting that we will hit 24p today! Yes, in your dreams maybe.

Anyway, what I take from this morning's RNS is that AMER's BOD knows that now is the time to deal with suitors to get the best possible deal. However, if we are standing at 17p, it would be very difficult to get anything close to over 30p, even if their assets are worth that much. They know it very well.

So, they need to push the current price up so that when they start dealing, they start from a higher platform. This is the reason why they strongly urge shareholders NOT to sell at this point so that there is a shortage of shares on the market and the price goes up. If they start negotiating from let say 25p, they could push a bidder for 30p. But if they start from 17p, it would be very hard to achieve it irrespective of their assets' worth.

I wouldn't be surprised (and maybe even hope) that the BOD buy some more shares for themselves in the coming days. That would be a good indicator for other shareholders to follow.

Let's see what develops in the next few days.

I’m absolutely flabbergasted this hasn’t risen to the high 20s. The board wouldn’t even consider a lower offer than that! Even the person with the personality disorder is saying 24! Topped up this morning, annoyingly I was going to top up today anyway having discussed the special situation last night with a friend (who’s also buying in).

Directors cannot exercise options in a MAR period under EU rules, but they can seek dispensation from the rule and can exercise them if otherwise they would lapse
