Appreciate your reply tradesmarter. I can see why indicators are more short term focused. I hope your charting skills turn out to be "on the button" ;-) Cheers!

I look at several indicators, but generally try and post 'simple charts' that can be read 'at a glance'...generally I look at trading chart patterns as they usually repeat themselves and then review indicators for entry/exit...Trading price patterns keeps you longer in the game to 'invest', whilst indicators are used for short term trading is my view. The beauty with Amer is that the fundies and price pattern both imply a great time to invest for the med term for the bigger payday...good luck

Thank you for your charting opinion tradesmarter. Always interesting to see how things play out. I note you don't use RSI (14 and 21 day) indicators much. Just curious if there is any particular reason? Thanks for any insight.

Only done very basics the past few weeks, but indicators are turning and we are now technically back to buy signal. The "backtest" of breakout has now been completed, the top of the gap has been tested, the fib retracement area has been tested. We also have the recent bullish golden cross (normally always gives good gains in the next few months) we also have momentum rising again, macd away to cross positive and a big squeeze underway on the bollinger bands...this implies a big move is coming. Please ignore if you dont like tea leaves, but those on the sidelines and wishing to add should consider 16.5 area as the low and start to accumulate around 17p whilst the millions of shares being dumped are getting soaked up and the coiled spring likely to go off on next updates....only my best guess so dyor as they say.

Obviously news will be the driver of the big price moves in the weeks, months and years ahead, but technically its looking like a good time to buy/add again and a few months from now I'm thinking I'll be glad I continued to add at these levels

3rd buy signal been generated and macd very nearly screaming buy again

At least we can say in recent weeks/months they've been more willing to pipe-up! ;o)

At the AGM in 2013, after we had acquired our interest in PUT-12 someone (possibly Q) about how we would deliver any production particularly if it proved substantial. JW simply said "Put in another pipe further up the river".

Seems a regular theme down the years - as we all get older but no richer.

It sure did take an age to get the OBA operational but lessons will have been learned and what an incredibly prescient move it was...among others ;o)

I had the impression the second OBA would drain Put12/13/14 and Terecay, and would cross the river in Put 13 or 14 - ie further East. Why do you think further West?

Re Put-8: thanks ML, this is good news. They announced Put-8 intentions, then nothing happened and I suspect it was due to the previous owners, who have now sold out. Hopefully it is now all systems go.

A second OBA? Jeez, how long will that take? The first one took an eternity x infinity to complete. (Not the 6-8 weeks JW told me at an AGM!)

RNS 30th July 2018 re Put 14 acquisition

John Wardle, CEO of Amerisur commented:

"This is an attractive deal for the Company, further consolidating our strategic position in the Putumayo and adding additional prospective acreage to our Terecay-Tacacho play fairway, where we see significant potential in multi-layered reservoirs, proven in our existing operations, in legacy wells and within Ecuador. The block has further strategic importance in that it extends south towards the Putumayo river and Ecuadorian border. This brings benefits in terms of accessibility for operations and eventual evacuation of produced crude by providing a pathway to access the pipeline systems of Ecuador, in a similar way to the existing OBA system in our Platanillo field."

So, OBA 2 will now be east (and south) of the existing OBA principally to provide the export route for the AMER/OXY Terecay-Tacacho play, whilst the current OBA will serve the Put 8, Put 9 and Put 12 cluster.

The second OBA was mentioned at the Agm two years ago by JW. It is difficult to judge how much progress might have been made as there were later issues raised relating to native ethnic groups although these may not have been in the area proposed for oba2. Whether any preliminary survey work or progress has been made on this project is unclear as the last Agm was wrapped up rather too quickly to ask the peripheral questions It is something I will pursue at this years Agm though as routes to market seem to be a binding constraint to progress across several fields Q

Right Charlie and puts into context just how ridiculously undervalued we are!

BWD - nice spot.

Tyler agree with your assessment of the dire situ in the Permian both debt and maintaining production.

Conventional (i.e. not tight) oil finds, reserves and production have been flat-lining if not falling for some years now. Getting to the next big asset blocks many of which are in deep water will be prohibitively expensive and will result in protracted time-to-market. Wood Mac see a supply crunch in the next few years, I would agree with their analysis.

Being light and large, the 'Indico Complex'/LS3 discovery could yet be one of the most important finds in Colombia. As exploration drills go up-dip towards Sol there's every possibility the seam gets thicker.

We'll have a better handle on its full scale and scope before Interims. Worth pondering.

Presumably, GTE were one of the higher bids for our farmout and lost out to OXY.

This acquisition does put into context, what good value our deals have been since 2015.

Lots of Puntomayo oil going to go through the OBA.
You have to wonder how far advanced we are with the second
OBA and where exactly it will cross the river. My guess
it will be further West, which will suit GTE, no doubt.

moneylender - GTE also reference the OXY deal "A major US independent has also acquired a material position in the Putumayo and Llanos basins, offsetting Gran Tierra."

adding "We are excited by the opportunity to apply technical knowledge from Cohembi N Sand field to our N Sand plays across the Putumayo Basin."
=================================

edit: this is from slide 19 of latest AMER pres

• Regulatory permission to drill the Miraparriba-1 well from the Cohembi-2 pad, an existing pad located in the adjacent Suroriente block received

• Drilling of Miraparriba-1 (4.4 MMBO gross) from the Cohembi 2 pad is awaiting approval from Ecopetrol, spud of the well expected in Q2

PUT-8 partners now in perfect alignment!

20 days into the drill of 11,940ft say lowest end 250ft per day 5000ft at present could get a progress report middle of next week like we did with indico-1 if we do and everything looking hunky-dory volume should start to creep up and share price following suit.
