Seen price action shenans like this before prior to a hostile bid. AMER in the cross-hairs alright. 28p..? That would be a tragedy, but may be a case of simply 'time's up!'

While Exxon invested $12.5 billion on international upstream capital expenditures (CAPEX) to produce 1.7 million barrels a day of total liquid oil production in 2018, it spent a staggering $7.7 billion in U.S. upstream CAPEX to supply only 551,000 bd of oil. Thus, Exxon spent nearly double the amount of CAPEX for each barrel of U.S. oil production versus its international oil supply.

Maybe a placing is required for what the BoD are planning to reward themselves.

Dah. I no longer discount anything in Amerisur now so a placing farfetched it might be but impossible?

"If you recall he made some of his biggest share purchases prior to the Indico result. Nothing is not a high conviction move. Of course they'll have a good deal more intel on the LS3 than is in the public domain ;o)"

Was ever it thus.

Plenty: As far as comments about downside if this drill fails. The share price is not reflecting true value at present anyway.

All the bits lined up at Amerisur. Going to be a good year

Morning all,

Just a thought, if the LS3 at Calao is fill-to-spill, what's the likelihood the trend continues through the entire LS3 corridor up to Sol? Have read 90% drill success in adjacent blocks or thereabouts. Hmmmm.

Should the LS3 be intact (which will show on seismic) there's a high probability of success and with adjacency to Indico this will be considered a low risk drill - though nothing is ever nailed on. Indico on the other hand, post Mariposa, was considerably higher (risk), i.e. close enough (to Mariposa) but far enough away.

Not doubt referring to LS3 was interesting in the 'core' interview JW saying the significance of Mariposa was missed...

If you recall he made some of his biggest share purchases prior to the Indico result. Nothing is not a high conviction move. Of course they'll have a good deal more intel on the LS3 than is in the public domain ;o)

Based on the chart, I'd think a pullback to between 10-12p. Interesting that the PR frenzy that JW is on, hasn't inspired the share price much. There must be a reason he's doing the rounds, is a placing in the offing?

If the well is a duster, what is expected in percentage decline of shareprice?
I hope no more than 20%.

I'd imagine Mariposa & Indico were pretty much vertical drills - it would make sense to put the drill pad above the target. Logically, Calao will not be vertical....

Post 17356:
Not always clear. Mainly because well productivity is dependent on length of reservoir exposure to the borehole.
Lazy reporting may (intentionally?) leave this issue unclear.

Watch out for the words associated with depth as TVDSS (True Vertical Depth Sub Surface) versus MD (Measured Depth).
The depths I have seen in the reports tend to be MD, as, I assume, the drillers are too effing lazy to report the conversion. Lol! (The bain of my life at one point).

Please DYOR to check.

Talking trig -

- when a diagonal drill "encountered XX foot column" I assume they have calculated that to be the shorter vertical sooner than the actual longer diagonal distance of encounter.

Not certain Llanos 34 has thrown up anything on a par with Indico-1 and Llanos has already produced 50mmbo and is still flowing at 50k bopd. Clearly there’s something special in the LS3 between Mariposa and Sol; updip trend, combo traps, well defined structures as well as prolific source etc. Reckon we may need to manage our expectations for vertical pay at Calao though, as the LS3 highs are not as prominent as at I-1. But then no OWC at I-1, so who knows...IMO the I-1 appraisal drills alone could justify more than AMER’s current MCap, but it matters little the value will out eventually and we’re still recovering from a bombed out level.

No doubt this diagonal drill, through fault structures will already have thrown up some interesting intel. One for the trigonometry experts!
