PPS I thought you might have been referring to the long-gone CGT benefit for AIM shares where these were held for 2 years.

I guess someone is selling and someone is buying. Having mopped up £250K worth yesterday, it seems likely the fund will sit on the order book on support @21p, possibly watching or else with an iceberg (probably both), for at least three days to ensure the technical break of trend and a bullish reversal. This has upset Mr Grumpy, who has immediately thrown his toys everywhere and hurled more money in the short direction. The fund manager, with billions more at his disposal, has chuckled slightly & tipped his hat, mopped them up and then gone into the auction this evening and bought a little over 2 million more. Which brings us to the chart question posed earlier in the day about whether they work - charts are powerful things, but whether that is because people believe in them and thus make it happen, or vice versa, is very much open to debate.

A respected fund manager told me a good few years ago that the share price would not truly take off until the struck oil in a second territory. Then Paraguay was being promoted but the expectations have faded considerably. Ecuador is the ne contender. They are one-trick pony in Colombia as far as market and likes of RH are concerned. Until they halve the risk factor by finding another producing field elsewhere we can whistle for mega improvement in share price That doesn't rule out an emerald energy like acquisition in Colombia by likes of sinopet et al though

Lenin Moreno declaring win for ruling leftist party in Ecuador Presidential re-run election. Lasso banker/businessman protesting about 2% percentage point win. No news until dispute sorted and ruling party win does not suggest fastrack for the VHR sector blocks.
The inevitable rise in share price being all to predictable is too well publicised for me. We shall see. AGM is a month away and nothing much will be declared until the morning thereof imo.

I'm not sure I follow, I've always ascribed to the idea that the best way to test a strategy is to open it up to as many people as possible and let them pick holes in it.

Marnewton has always answered questions about his methodology, even from TA newbies like me. A question like "does it work" is just lazy. TA isn't something he's made up, you can use google and make up your own mind.

The discussion starts from a point of at least minimal understanding where you can say "I don't think it works because" or "Wow, this is amazing, can you explain this?"

Obviously if your basing your investing decisions on Leicester winning/losing a game of football you're probably best to keep it quiet, which was kind of the point I was trying to make.

Keeping your investment strategy hidden isn't the sign of someone with a strong strategy.

There's no trend reversal yet, Lucy. At least not on the daily chart.

As stated previously, this trade is an attempt to get in before a trend reversal is confirmed.

Sink below the stop-loss and all bets are off.

People pay good money for this level of insight!!

For all we know the trend reversal might just be due to Rex being out of phone signal for a couple of days.
