26/1/2017 12:58 | Westie - published April 6 last year: On 13 April 2015, John Wardle, Chief Executive Officer, purchased 185,000 shares at 24.25p per share and 63,000 shares at 23.75p per share. Following these purchases, Tracarta Limited, a company in which John Wardle has a beneficial interest holds 19,972,505 shares, representing 1.86% of the issued share capital of Amerisur | bigwavedave
26/1/2017 12:52 | As long as it's not me, Aceuk. Don't know when he bought them but he's probably trousered a nice profit anyway. | bigwavedave

26/1/2017 12:21 | Talking of Wardle, Tracarta Ltd., in which he "has a beneficial interest", has just dumped 4 million shares in Kennedy Ventures which is run by Giles Clarke and Nick Harrison. Interesting! KENV now down 11 per cent. Tracarta has circa 19 million Amerisur shares. | bigwavedave

26/1/2017 10:21 | Blast from the past: hxxp://www.proactive I'd forgotten that JW was only handed his position when GC joined the company. | al101uk
26/1/2017 08:44 | I remain convinced that the oil hasn't migrated away, JW knows how to get it out, the OBA will deliver in the long term, and the political and security situation will only continue to improve.I agree that our BOD have been greedy but the reality is we have been experiencing the market re-appraisal from an exploration to a production company. There's always loads of excitement during initial exploration phase, we dream of production but in terms of share price "it is better to travel hopefully..."I chuckle when I think that it was the lure of Paraguay that kept me in at one stage as we talked of "company forming potential" We appear to have all but dismissed it now.The conspiracy theorist in me thinks they'll sell it off for zip and. M,are themselves another bunch of money - GC could produce a shell to "take over the liability" .......Nonetheless over the next couple of years Amer should reach the much fabled pound by Christmas but it won't be this year! | the dark horse
25/1/2017 16:43 | And here is a fine photo of the man himself, brown nosing up to Allen Stanford and his supposed millions. The reality of GC's toadying welcome was in fact that Stanford was a con man, now serving 110 years in a US prison for fraud. The 'millions in the glass case' that GC drooled over were probably blank pieces of paper with only a top layer of genuine bank notes. Stanford's 'personal' helicopter (in own colours with Stanford's name all over it) that he arrived in at Lords was in fact hired for the trip to meet and impress GC - from the Battersea Helicopter base, a couple of miles away. GC fell for it. "he (GC) and I got along well" Should we judge a man by the friends he keeps? If so, maybe that's why he doesn't join PIs for a beer in the bar the evening before AGMs. | tonyrelaxes
25/1/2017 14:28 | He took over a failing company and got lucky. Beyond that, read the link Ace posted, once he's got his hooks in, he's not an easy character to get rid of. He knows how to suck up to the right people and isn't afraid of p'ssing the rest off. His running of the the ECB says a great deal of what has been said here countless times. Should he be revered as he currently is on the KENV and SMA threads, certainly not. He's at least as likely to burn the companies to the ground as he is to make a modest success out of them. In this respect his "gambling" nature seems to suit the AIM listed resource sector perfectly and it's a place where he can do what he does best... make himself richer. | al101uk
25/1/2017 14:08 | thanks for the summary ... which leaves the question, after all that what is he even doing here? | currypasty
25/1/2017 13:50 | We all know GC has little or no time for pi's. They don't make him money and are only an irritant. He has sold so many companies now for a very nice profit i have no doubt he'll do same here, and soon. He could make his exit at agm for all we know. He's had eleven years now and is retirement age. 30m plus shares in hand courtesy of us and probably an option on a semi detached island somewhere near bransons. Time for a change.. IE pi's get rich for once? | valentine
25/1/2017 12:31 | He was an investment banker, who took Majestic Wines from the receivers (for £100K) in 1981 and sold it for £15 million 9 years later. It was floated in 1996, so no investors other than GC and friends made money during his tenure. He built Pet City from nothing in 1989 to a business sold for £150 million. An Entirely private business. He built Safestore from nothing to a business sold for £44 million.... BUT this one was floated on AIM at inception and had at least two cash calls from single investors of £10 and 14 million along with an open offer of a further £10 million (there may be more). The eventual sale value in that respect is not impressive. The performance when GC left and the company and it was taken private was stunning. In 4 years it relisted with a valuation of £661 million. Since then it has put in some modest further growth at £770 million-ish. Pure Wafer floated at £18, eventually wrapped up at £1.80 (2004-2016) Plus a few other private ventures Basically he's built his reputation running private companies, mainly UK retail based. His performance in charge of listed companies hasn't been so great. I doubt there are many Private Investors out there who have made much money from GC's business acumen. After all of that he stumbled across Amerisur, got lucky on the first drill and been riding his luck ever since in my view. | al101uk
25/1/2017 12:04 | Not investors but cricket people: | aceuk
25/1/2017 11:46 | I agree al101uk. However I've never researched Clarke thoroughly - does he have a trail of angry investors in his wake OR are his longer term investors generally happy? | aceuk
25/1/2017 11:46 | So the price is now under what certain directors sold at recently. I don't believe that is a coincidence or luck on their part | foiledagain
25/1/2017 11:35 | westmoreland lad Not on purpose, but they are a shell trading at several times their cash value because "GC must have a plan for it". I can only imagine it's down on the reputational damage he appears to be inflicting on himself at every conceivable opportunity. A cash shell isn't a business, it's the promise of a management team to create a business at some point in the future... the only way you can value it is by assessing how much a promise from Giles Clarke is worth. Needless to say, I won't be buying at these levels. | al101uk
25/1/2017 11:21 | Amer is a buy at these levels and a sell at 29.75 for the short term , until Oba throughput (now possibly up from 2200bopd to 3100bopd) - so back in again! Amer spud and drill results might get us above 30p in q1, really should have Oba solved by now and be in mid 30s. | oilandgas1

25/1/2017 11:01 | BWD, Expect a downgrade in the next few days. He obviously has a quota to fill. The E&P team at Peel Hunt are award winning, can you imagine what a bunch of morons the rest of the E&P analyst community must be if this guy can be part of an award winning team. A team of two people at that! | al101uk
25/1/2017 10:54 | Mainly off topic... AceUK, Told you I (we) were right on KENV. It hasn't sunk in yet, but operational cut backs, re-negotiating price on their product, continued operational issues with the mine and a hail Mary pass in the form of Lithium are not "implementing further efficiency gains" or a "mainly positive RNS". Meanwhile some kind soul has posted an RNS history similar to the one I posted on KENV, but on Ironveld. Each RNS putting back the timescale by another week/month/quarter. The similarities between the three Giles Clarke companies are absolutely stunning, failure after failure after failure with only the assets and good operational management (under review) keeping him above water here. Apologies anyone who owns KENV here, but I'm sure you're still well in the money so couldn't give a monkeys what I think ;-) | al101uk
25/1/2017 10:41 | and now Peel Hunt raises its target to 27p! | bigwavedave |
