They were turning a profit at much lower gold prices than this!

- As a result of the setback in production turnover declined to US$7.2m (H1 2018 US$10.9m). The gold price achieved averaged US$1,308oz during the period (Year 2018 US$1,292).

- The Company made an operating profit of US$1.3m (H1 2018 profit US$1.6m), with a net loss before taxation of US$0.6m (H1 2018 profit US$0.6m).

- The total cash cost of production was lower at US$1,015oz (Year 2018 US$1,235oz), as the Company contained costs during the period.

- EBITDA achieved was positive at US$1.5m (Year 2018 US$0.9m).

- Cash flow from operating activities was positive at US$0.4m, (H1 2018 US$2.5m)

Yep, or sell the assets to someone who can change things and extract 200k oz/year.

Price of gold is rising too...

If they can't make money in this environment they should pack up.

Looks like this is range bound in a shallow uptrend until some meaningful news on 2019 production and 2020 mining development plans. The assets are huge so happy to hold.

Very disappointing considering the fake advfn chart above, or is my broker out of sync?

1newlook post above is spam. Do not click on the link. He is posting under a number of aliases - eg sara70, 1valuetrader - across many boards.

The post-year end commentary will probably be the most interesting in the upcoming results - new kit fully operational etc

2020 CapEx is $13.6m for 'Ore handling facilities' (source: Altyn's website > Sekisovskoye) so we can assume that the fleet is going to be bolstered significantly. Who needs an old banger when you can have several shiny new trucks :)

Yeah, a while back production was hit by mechanical problems, so the directors loaned altn a million dollars to buy a couple of new trucks, but it would make a big difference if the old one was fixed back to a reliable state and not being used for spare parts.

Hi, maybe I missed something - " I wonder if they got that dodgy cat fixed" is probably "I wonder if they got that dodgy CAT fixed" meaning a Caterpillar loader? - please tell all! tightfist

some chunky trades reported today, but only a few of them, and the variance between trades was 60/63 so presumably they were all sells, unless the mm has decided to narrow the spread...which a doubt. could be late reported trades from days ago i suppose.

A few more days and will have been 8 months of gold prices above $1400 and also 7 months where we have no idea as to production. Both surprising and unusual facts. This is still my (joint) biggest investment and happy to hold and wait for the inevitable rise... GLA patient fellow holders!

70/75 does seem like it may be a resistance level looking at the chart, but the expected news should see us burst through that, assuming everything is going well.

i wonder if they got that dodgy cat fixed?

agreed

higher highs and higher lows, and it seems that although buyers have generally trumped sellers there are still some people trying to trade between the spread, but i think on such small volume, such a wide spread, trading is not really possible. This is a buy and hold stock until significant news comes, and i'm happy to hold.

my usual strategy is to find something that is ridiculously under valued for whatever reason, but tat clearly does have value and great potential, then take a long position of 2 years minimum and simply wait, do nothing, just wait...and chatter on the boards of course.

the vast majority of my cash is now suspended along with eurasia mining awaiting news, but this is now my number 2 holding, and i think the EUA story will conclude this year and i can diversify out of that a bit...unless it gets suspended indefinitely or forever.

Hi, my expectation is a fresh higher-low of around 0.61p in 3-4 weeks' time..... Of course, we may see some news to take us off in a different/better? direction, but I am not betting on it!

Look at the chart. It bottomed last may/june and has risen ever since.

Look at the activity, equipment bought, money raised.

Now what is the expectation going forward?

Obviously things are progressing, production will increase, and we will get rich on the back of it if they do a good job.

Those taking the risk here deserve a break.
