looks like we are going back to the bottom of the upward channel

Time to add at 0.58p if the opportunity provides.

I ought to state that I am in neither SOLG nor GGP.

GGP has come out with some great intercepts but they are deep for Australia and the grade needs to be high there for underground operations. But the market cap. is very high for a company with no declared resource. As was SOLG at one time and the result has been a share price that has gone nowhere for years (and technically doesn't look that great now).

From my perspective I will not be investing in either of them as I see much better prospects on the market currently - ALTN has WAY more potential for share price growth than either. Let's hope that it realises that potential. I am keeping my eye on SOLG though as I think the very long term story is compelling considering the likely supply/demand situation for copper in the future.

From memory alpala is deep, like 1000m under, and fairly low grade tho lots of it. Grades have to be high at great depths.

Personally I'm not a fan of solg even at 18p. Perhaps I'd take a punt at 9p.

They will need to raise a huge sum of cash, maybe a billion dollars, to build their mine.

GGP is 500m, good grades, more drilling and feasibility study required, the their assets are growing. They gave away 70% of their core asset for $65m drilling budget.

SOLG is getting to fair value. Consider that it owns 85% of Alpala which contains 10mt copper and 23m oz gold (compared to GGP....) and other assets that look like they could be significant as well.

Whilst SOLG is valued more highly than GGP or EUA I consider it to be a totally different beast. There is value there whereas I would suggest that the others have years of value priced in (which is true of the US market as well I suppose!)

Let's not mention SOLG then...

GHP have given away 70% of their core asset for $65m of drilling.

Another false closing price IMO

That is close to my PM portfolio!

There is quite a lot of momentum behind GGP currently but if you look at the chart it has gone exponential which is often a sign of imminent collapse. I do think that you would have to have a compelling reason to buy GGP currently. Apart from ALTN (which is freakishly mispriced on many measures), it is worth more than CGH now which has more gold than GGP will ever have I believe.

I agree fully and its frustrating when you compare GGP to producers of much lower valuation like ALTN, AAU, AAZ, HUM, SHG, SRB etc.

True!
But when you see a stock (GGP) with zero income, price/NAV of 42x, and where G&A (ie directors pay and promotion) takes up £3.2m of their £3.3m losses, it does look as though they are just mining the stock market with inevitable downside to come.

Consequently, the probability of shorting that successfully must surely be high.

Sorry, GGP has nothing to do with ALTN, so will stop posting about it here.

I was tempted to go short on Tesla last week but did not have the bottle. Shorting is not in my nature and losing money because a stock goes up seems perverse!

It is almost enough to encourage me back into leveraged trading!

A pair trade - short GGP and long ALTN looks to have a very high probability of paying off IMO :-)

With small cap miners you have to stomach the disparity in the market and sit tight. I am working on the basis that our time will come but there is not enough hot money to share around the potential that exists with the penny shares. ALTN is way below the radar an will not to break above 1p before the euphoria kicks in (I hope).

Agreed!
GGP have a MktCap of £203m without any resource. Yet ALTN are only £16.7m but have a RESERVE of over 3m oz at Seki (leaving out what they have already declared at TS) and, of course, the infrastructure in place to actually produce gold - even if they have struggled to grow production.

It defies logic why people pay so much for just an explorer that is years away from having a decent deposit to exploit.

You can add GGP to that film. The only company in this sector I know of that could make EUA look cheap! I am amazed at how investors have chased these share prices higher.

Exactly what I was thinking today JC - the EUA story would make a great film.

The EUA situation looks like a classic TV drama. I hope the suspension ends with good news as the market capitalisation has an awful lot of good news built in.

If they do wait until May to make the H2 2019 results announcement the market will then be close to a full year behind reality. It will just build up more energy for an explosion upwards on any large percentage increase in production.

What will be interesting to see is whether the company is going to update shareholders seperately in February, March regarding their second half, or worst case scenario to wait till mid-April, May for the half year results, which could mean a small wait, but then at least the company should have a very good headline jump from their last 15k production.

In that case I hope EUA bags a few more times.
