Jan 30, 2022

Written by
Marco Chiandoni

Italian open access freight operator will receive its new fleet from May onwards

ITALIAN open access operator GTS Rail has awarded Alstom a €30m contract for five Traxx E494 locomotives equipped with last-mile technology. The locomotives will be supplied with a 10-year maintenance service.

The operator has also ordered 100 90’ flat wagons from Czech manufacturer Walbo.

The first locomotives will be delivered in May, with the first wagons being delivered from July onwards.

The investment is being funded by the Marguerite II infrastructure fund, a private equity fund which aims to act as a catalyst for greenfield and brownfield infrastructure investments in renewable energy, transport and digital infrastructure.

Good podcast, always an enjoyable listen. The benefits associated with the small pool of royalty type companies such as ALS, TRR and APF are just not really being appreciated yet in the wider UK market, that's still to come (I hope!)

Ooof, Diba NW, get in!

"We are delighted to report on these high-grade results from the Diba NW prospect. Intersections of 4.76 g/t Au over 12m from 102m and 8.74 g/t Au over 7m from 119m (not true widths) are excellent. Diba NW is located 0.5km northwest of the Diba Deposit and is modelled as a coherent series of shallow-dipping, near-surface lenses of gold mineralisation along a discontinuous strike length of approximately 1.5km. These new high-grade intersections indicate the presence of potentially enriched zones, or sub vertical mineralised structures, at Diba NW which will be the subject of follow-up exploration."

Hopefully with copper strong and gold taking off we can start moving up now. I noticed the previous press release they forecast after tax revenue of $6.4m this year and $10m next, impressive. Waiting on the debt facility approval to repay the La Mancha loan due on 17th of Feb.

Happy New Year, ALS investors!

This isn't a busy thread is it, but there's not been a whole lot to digest in the last month. Anyway, news today

Good news to retain 100% of Lakanfla, where drilling proved the concept even if it didn't demonstrate high grades in the first campaign.

More good news to bring in further licences into the Tabak JV, as Marvel are cracking on with exploration and assessment

Shame the share price couldn't support a higher price at which to raise but it is welcome diversification. Refinancing the Caserones debt should be much easier now.

Rather than perpetually fundraising they should occasionally be selling assets. Taking a profit - if any exist!

Bit harsh imo. ALS have obviously been changing focus and direction over the last few months and this is building on that change. The future is quite rosy AFAICS.
