Article on Kitco about the Sawiris, apparently we bid for five more concessions in the latest round of licenses auctioned by the Egyptian government, these awards appear to be pending.

Very impressive grades in shallow holes in first 2 diamond drill wells, though admittedly towards the centre of the known accumulation rather than a step out

Steven Poulton, Chief Executive of Altus, commented:

"A near-surface intersection of 21.9 g/t over 10.2m represents an outstanding start to the current drilling campaign at the Diba gold project in western Mali

Thanks, some interesting background info that is worth bearing in mind. Still you have to remember that high quality royalties already paying at attractive prices are rare, obviously something only offered to them due to their connections to EMX, we are fortunate that the relationship with La Mancha meant we could get the financing to do the deal. Even if the company has to do an equity raise, can't imagine it would need to be too large, the Casarones deal is still highly accretive. The cashflow from that will negate the need for further dilution in the long run.

Link to article posted by Ariana on Twitter. Read the whole thing, but this is an extract re: copper.Copper, which Woodmac emphasizes "sits at the nexus of the energy transition" stands out particularly. The 19 million tonnes of additional copper that need to be delivered for net-zero 2050 implies a new La Escondida must be discovered and enter production every year for the next 20 years. Even if you focus on just one of the obstacles bringing new copper supply online – the time it takes to build a new mine – and leave aside all other factors, net-zero 2050 has zero chance. https://www.mining.com/cop26-will-be-a-colossal-mining-cop-out/

PS - I call latest transaction Trojan horse - as it makes no real sense to me - for als - considering the stage of their development - proportional size, cost and structure of the "deal"

BOD knew exactly how they will repay the loan - when they signed it - in general terms - and they did not tell us exactly what they are going to do - as far as I know - that is a huge red flag to me - holding back the general idea what will happen regarding the loan "solution" - as it is hugely significant for the present investor

all above is just imho

and I look at it from the negative - there are many better options ........ which can happen

the Q remains - at what price - the last one was done above 70p - and als has progressed since then - so it should be much higher

but my Qs are:

there is disproportional amount of (loan repayment) capital to be raised compared to the existing equity - to be issued into the market - it will be much bellow 70p imho

or

shares will be issued at "cheap rate" to the loan owner who happens to own a major stake already. which triggers a cheap TO.

and here we are at AAAM and mano river "situation" again - done by the same people - if that happens -

if interested one can take some oxigen and start reading my diatribe on the other als thread

so I do not buy als shares at all till this "situation" is clear

kaos3 - and ex disgruntled shareholder of the same management at other companies

if you do not trust my words - read hornbloewer and the rest of posters

Yes you are right, also cash is down to £6.3m as a chunk was used on Caserones. $29m would likely be too rich for Altus to raise as a loan...

They will need to raise. The terms of the La Mancha loan:"The amount drawn down, and interest accrued, under the Facility will be repayable on 17(th) February 2022, being six months and one day from the date of drawing down the Facility."Besides, share price pretty much said they'd need to raise cash in a recent interview.

The spread is good and they still have a decent chuck of cash, just above £10m Q2, no need for an equity raise. Should catch a bid with gold moving up.

Been watching as the August press-inspired surge unwinds. Sold too early into that rise; but at a higher price than where we are now; so wondering when to buy back in.

A good news day today; but not convinced that the 65p support will hold; so sitting on the side-lines for now...

With the company paying 7% the first few months I have Altus netting above $1.3m in the first year from Caserones.

Its a definite welcome subtle change of strategy, stepping up the pace and targeting much quicker income generation. Very happy to hold and see what develops.

Just noticed the proactive interview the CEO did a couple of days ago, good to finally get some colour and rationale on the global royalties strategy. Looking to get income up to $10m post tax a year within the next 18 months, so a few more to do, wonder how it will be put together, a handsome $600k plus per annum spread currently but the debt pile will add up. Updates from Mali, Egypt and possibly Morocco shortly.

I always fall behind with moneyweek too, Frisby has pumped them before, which is when I got in. Still a healthy £6.3m/$8.7m cash on hand.
