Once again, good Results.
Steady as she goes, T/O rising, Profit rising, Product range rising,
Dividend rising. Sound & Safe for long term hold, IMHO.

I understand the terms are 100:1 at 211p

i will be taking up my full entitlement

I expect we'll drop back to 62-64 soon after. Not adding at this point. Rights issue could hurt if Mark is correct.

Surely a bit depends on the announcement next week too?

Every reduction in a major holding has to be announced to the Market, In the absence of any such announcements, the explanation for the stubborn low share price could be impatient fickle private investors selling on minor rises looking for a fast buck elsewhere....at a risk of a fast loss. APH is a steady horse, growing at a steady rate, perhaps somewhat boring but safer than most. However, the low share price will not be forever, a positive RNS from APH (could come anytime) will drive the share price substantially north.
IMO, Winnings.

dround87,
As I've said before, my view of APH is a 'steady as you go' type of co. I'd assumed (wrongly, as it turns out) that it would be largely immune from the market uncertainty accompanying B--x-t.
Thus I believed that share price growth to 100p was based on those principles.
So, to see a 40% drop in the share price and a continued inability to break the 70p barrier, suggests to me reasons beyond normal commercial trading, ie investor-specific, hence my guess that one or more major holders are, perhaps, compromised elsewhere and are taking it out on APH by reducing their holdings, come what may.
Holdings RNSs may confirm this.

I believe the seller may be MVM Life Sciences and the initial clue was Tom Casdagli stepping down from the Board last year:https://www.investegate.co.uk/alliance-pharma-plc--aph-/rns/directorate-change/201805300700095926P/MVM have already reduced their holding but still hold 37m shares and may create quite an overhang.

I think it's a fallacy to assume we're looking at one big seller. There are a multitude of reasons why the price is where it is. What exactly are you expecting at this point?

Our big seller seems to be a seller at any price.
Can't expect any upward movement until they've finished.
Funny that not so long ago they were 100p.

I'm holding long term albeit with a much reduced stake. APH is no longer a significant portion of my portfolio as I don't expect much to happen in the near future but I still have faith in the company to deliver decent growth going forward. I doubt it'll be savaged as we've seen elsewhere these past months. The share price took that hit after results in October and theres been no build up so far ahead of results. We're not priced for growth like we once were. Plus the FTSE and AIM aren't in free fall like they were back then. I could be wrong but I think it'll be OK. It is a relatively safe stock to be in.

Who is brave enough to hold before results announced? This market is brutal with anything less than brilliant results. I have watched with interest how companies are ravaged on results or trading updates... Good news is met with max 7% upside roughly. Bad news, not uncommon to see upto40% sell off... Bottom line. Short selling is where the quick money is made... Taking advantage of humanities negativity bias which reacts to pain with twice the intensity of a pleasurable experience

Well... We live in uncertain times. Let's hope so. The markets took a tumble today. Probably more on the way until the situation is clearer. A brexit discount is now hard wired into the AIM and small cap market. No point getting upset about it. Sell up or hold with an iron fist. It's going to get rocky!

APH's shares continue to trade below 70p, yet realistically and based on fundamentals the shares deserve to trade above 80p. I hold long term, therefore I am not unduly perturbed at the current under-performance of the share price which in my view is unlikely to last for very much longer.

So much for that child's W we saw a few weeks ago... probably the most boring stock I hold, happy to mind given the volatility elsewhere.

Pound rallying on brexit news. Going to be a red day! Good for confidence medium/long term though and if we really do end up with no deal off the table and a shot at a second referendum we should see huge gains across the board in the UK.
