silverfern,

silverfern - 21 Sep 2018 - 09:57:52 - 1032 of 1566 Alliance Pharma pays Dividends - APH
Bought more yesterday. Sure it's a disappointing drop, but as an investor I expect to see 100p in the next 12 months as they're acquisitions and new products hit the markets. So yes, a 30% upturn from here and I shall buy on any rise.

--------

Annoyingly, that was about the time I first bought into APH. Been in and out since. But a 30% drop was not what I was expecting from a pretty reliable co. 🙄

I'm not so sure you've missed out yet, it'll take a good news day to pull it back from its slowly falling trend now imo dyor ofc.

marksp- You make a fair comment BUT once in the hands of the law we have no idea what might be uncovered. Not saying that Alliance are in any way complicit but the market does not like uncertainty.

Marks - Not aware of the announcement you are talking about. Stepping back to role of non-executive is different from departing without notice.

Looks to me like there is a big order going through. Whether a buy or sell who knows but the MMs are working this quite hard.

Read the complaint then comment
the point in naming all the peripheral parties is it gets access to their documentation, emails etc. It is fairly clear that APH are not the target of the complaint

But don't let facts get in the way.

Winnings - he had announced he was stepping back about 2 years ago. non-exec stepping down at Age 70 doesn't really make such a good story does it ?

Mr Market seems unhappy- Never likes the threat of litigations and tends to hedge for the worst possible outcome - So $64K question - What is a safe base level? Sub 60p or sub 50p ??

CDall it a deramp if you like, this is the first time I learn of a director leaving at no notice without there being any animosity.

winnings1,
'..sudden'? Dawson moved to being a non-exec c.15 mths ago, so quite an orderly departure imho.
Of more significance perhaps is what he decides to do with his 55m shares! 🤔

Normally a happy departure (director's departure)is not a sudden a that.

silverfern,
Agreed.
Btw, do you think the co. will still achieve your predicted 100p by Sept?

Catching up with everyone else over the past few days. Missed my buying opportunity. Got too greedy!

When a man's mind is on a round the world trip in his own yacht, and he's built a fabulous business over the last 15 years, I doubt he needs to justify his departure :)

Seems the market views Dawson's departure as good news!

It is the potential damage to APH's reputation that is to be taken into account.
Sales may suffer when trust is damaged.

Couldn't have seen that coming to be fair. What can an investor do about that kind of thing? Only hope it doesn't happen to you. That's why I ran at the first sign. No idea whether alliance are innocent or guilty and I'm not going to gamble my money on the outcome! I've been through it all before. But that said the results were still good and once this stuff is in the past then it's in the past. There's still an opportunity down here at these prices. I'll start with some limit orders soon and bite at market below 63.

Bit late for that, I'd have thought.
Got my timing all wrong with this one. Sold out at 15%loss.
'Steady as she goes' maybe, but who'd have thought it would be downwards?
Glug, glug, glug....

I reckon he retires from the Board to avoid his name being tainted by the inquiry.

Could be read as scapegoating ahead of the enquiry or an unexciting innocent natural retirement, either way I doubt it will impact the current price trend imo dyor ofc.

Buy trigger set at 62.5... hopefully we'll not see that support level again, still a lth here but happy to double up at that sort of level. Pharma getting a kicking in general today.
