10/8/2017 09:22 | Comment from BSB "Aldermore reported a 32% jump in its half-year pre-tax profits to £78m as its cost to income ratio improved from 46% to 44%. Despite that, at 14.9p earnings per share came in just shy of the 15.3p forecast by some analysts, although that did mark a rise of 45% on the year-ago period. Return on equity was also higher, rising from 16% to 19%." | masurenguy
10/8/2017 08:58 | Good to see the price rising but the market really does have a very pessimistic view of the future at the moment. Hoping that by lunchtime the speculators will have sold and the price can start to move up properly | cc2014
10/8/2017 07:54 | The story has been the same for some time so it will be interesting to see if the market takes any notice this time. Fingers crossed | cc2014
10/8/2017 07:53 | Agreed. Had a massive slump after Farage had his day which mr monks did not hesitate to take up. I think dividend news would change things, the call at 930 is a must! | steptoes yard
10/8/2017 07:49 | Yes, after Steptoe, the market has plenty of opportunities.I have been bullish here and OSB for some time, 300p only gets this to P/E 10 against 45% growth.Really ridiculous, 300p is not factoring in stunning growth year in year out.Mispriced imho | che7win
10/8/2017 07:42 | Xsigning in. Slightly surprised given the benign performance of the stock in the last three months. These things are usually telegraphed to the market. Every chance of 30p eps for the full year now so at 10 yrs earnings 300 it is but why not? Either their PR with II's is poor or the mkt is worried about the default provisions for defaults which have been largely absent for 8 years. Which is it . All will be revealed. Must say I aa surprised by this | steptoes yard
10/8/2017 07:32 | A very bullish outlook too, can't find too much to complain about here, surely should be closer to 300p.Growth stocks are on high multiples, this stock deserves to be much, much higher imho. | che7win
10/8/2017 07:27 | Totally agree excellent stuff, these should fly upwards. | igoe104
10/8/2017 07:09 | Excellent results, EPS up 45%!!!! | che7win
09/8/2017 22:42 | Yes pulled up fast this afternoon once the buying started. I'm always hopeful when there's a strong move in the right direction in the last few hours of the day. | cc2014
09/8/2017 15:58 | Moving up nicely ahead of results tomorrow. Small top up. | che7win
09/8/2017 14:56 | Nice deal here. Hopefully a good day tomorrow, fingers crossed CC2014. | igoe104
07/8/2017 16:08 | Results on Thursday. Nothing I can determine from the price action to tell me if the results have been leaked. Buyers have been getting stronger Friday and today but someone is using the buyers to offload stock. The seller seems more interested in shifting volume than getting a good price, or there could be two sellers who keep competing to shift their volume. Edit; I see the same pattern on a number of stocks atm. I don't know whether it's Brexit or a shift in bond yields or what but whatever the news it appears there's selling going on whatever the underlying trading situation | cc2014
04/8/2017 09:10 | Results 1 week away I think. | che7win
31/7/2017 18:00 | Moody's and slightly lower number of mortgages. However, if we return to their Q1 update: Tangible book value per share(2) increased by 5% to 160.3p (end 2016: 152.5p) so from where I'm sitting 217p looks great value, unless of course you believe the world is going to fall apart. I don't see the world falling apart scenario. There is economic growth on all continents so even if things are a bit flat for a while over here, people should be able to get jobs to service the debt. | cc2014
31/7/2017 15:29 | FF, That may be so, but ALD has been a lot more stable than OSB.PAG up another 7p so far today, outperforming everything.I would have topped up here at 216p here today, seems to want to recover and results around 11 days time. The Moody credit warning may be the reason for weakness this morning. | che7win
31/7/2017 14:19 | I'm afraid that the challenger bank gloss has worn off here and people are starting to see ALD for what it really is ..... | future financier
31/7/2017 12:29 | Jeez. Just no strength here. I trust it will bounce from here once again. | cc2014
26/7/2017 20:57 | indeed good spot thanks | srichardson8
26/7/2017 19:25 | Interesting | cc2014
26/7/2017 09:44 | Thanks Che7win. PAG now up 5.6% and has clearly bounced off the 405 level and looks to me to strongly heading upwards from here. ALD will surely join the party soon. Volume extremely thin on ALD in the last hour which puzzles me | cc2014
26/7/2017 08:51 | CC, Agree, ALD is going against the trend yesterday afternoon and today so far.PAG update is reassuring, it makes the price in ALD and OSB look silly.PAG is above P/E 10 and still rises sharply today, ALD and OSB both at P/E below 8, this makes them look even cheaper IMHO.PAG update should really rerate ALD and OSB from here. | che7win
26/7/2017 08:31 | This is ridiculous this morning. bought some more at 2.189 PAG, OSB, VM.,MTRO going great this morning on back of PAG update ALD currently down 1%, Rest up around 3% and ALD was weak yesterday too, I guess related to warnings about lending getting overstretched generally. I assume they are whacking it down at the start of the day before a big rise during the day. Fingers crossed | cc2014
26/7/2017 08:20 | Good update from Paragon, shows how mispriced the market is in Osb and Ald. | che7win |
