Cyberbug; Fair questions . On the market cap point. This all depends if with the latest developments the market decides to value AFC on the potential which is creeping ever closely. I would say its going to re rate over time but you never know when the market will sit up and take notice, with regards to trhe funding of the plant I think the following extracts answer where they would like to get the finance from, if it does come from funding agencies that will be a big bonus.

AFC Energy and ICL plan to start initial work on an AFC's Beta Plus System later this year and on the full-scale system after securing project finance. Jointly, both companies are actively seeking grants from UK and European funding to accelerate the demonstration of the large-scale fuel cell system.

Commenting on the agreement Ian Williamson, Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are very pleased to be working with ICL in this ground breaking commercial-scale development, which will put British fuel cell technology and Innovation on a global stage. I have previously emphasised our goal to move to a commercial demonstration phase for our technology and ICL have now provided the perfect opportunity for us to demonstrate commercial electricity supply.

We now need the funding agencies to step up to the challenge and support our vision.

In terms of news. They have a production plant now so I would say some type of order is on the way we might also get confirmation of grants bieng awarded that ICL and AFC are seeking and as bag1 mentions they have a partnership with akzo. Massive company who may be persuaded to become futher involved if the potential is there. RC

tbey look good for money until Mid next year but there is talk of revenue and value coming into the company, Akzo could partner up or they could be looking at licence deal in Korea.

SP went up to 80p when LINC took placing in 2010, same could easily happen again.

Mass production is where the money will really come in, AFC will quickly hit profit IMO.

Corac. (CRA) is risky i would have sold into the rise if i had them tomorrow morning. they still need to prove up thier downhole compresser. Its being going on for years.Im going to wait until results are known before i go in there but its worth keeping an eye on as if they ever do succeed and its getting closer the potential is big.SLE are much longer term but are setting themselves up nicely with all kinds of deals. i would expect the share price to double by christmas though.
With the developments here just lately though i think AFC has the best chance of returning gains in the shortest period of time.Say over a year. RC

Will take a look thanks - I have a initial target of £2 a share on AFC, it has the potential to move into profit very quickly.

I do think a big licence deal is on the cards when the confirmation of the trials has been announced.

I saw it on corac as well another one i have on my moinitor but alas had no funds.I like the story here always have especially the low costs.Intend to hold medium to long term.I like the potential profits. SLE is my other medium to long term hold as it also has big potential. GL. RC

The production facility has already built the electrodes for Akzo, now they will ramp up with bigger system IMO, and also an installation in Korea.

re-rating due IMO.

Being keeping an eye on these since the days of the massive spike to 80p. Took a position 4 weeks ago as always liked the story but wanted to see how they progressed. These are the main reasons for why I like the company.

1)AFC Energy and Industrial Chemicals Ltd to build UK's largest fuel cell energy facility. Darren Sharpe, Energy Projects Manager of ICL, commented: "Alongside the development of our new Chlor-alkali facility we have reviewed a number of fuel cell systems and other technologies that could be used to generate electrical power from the hydrogen that is produced as part of the Chlor-alkali process. We have been impressed with the potential of AFC Energy's alkaline fuel cell system, the suitability of the system to operate with the Chlor-alkali process, the focus on commercial economics and the sheer pace of development we have witnessed at AFC Energy to further the capabilities of their fuel cell technology.

2) - Cash balance at 30 April 2012: GBP4.49 million (30 April 2011: GBP3.65 million)

3) Electrode life extended past three months for the first time, a major milestone for commercialisation of fuel cells for industrial applications

4) AFC Energy Opens Pilot Production Plant

5) When cartridges reach the end of their life in the field they are returned to AFC Energy. The ease of reuse and recycling of cartridge components significantly reduces the ongoing cost and material demand for producing new cartridges over the lifetime of a fuel cell system and AFC Energy

I believe any investment is now significantly derisked. Its going to take time but now is the time to get is as more of the pieces are falling into place. RC

Yep I don't think you build a production facility without excellent feedback from trials.

Hopefully the rest of the so called green electrical energy producers i.e. Solar, wind and Nuclear are stripped of there taxpayer subsides, allowing AFC to demonstrate how efficient and cost effective their fuel cells are, stranger things have happened, although being devoid of any common sense it's some hope.

This has come from news announced on Friday -

Nice article - See photo of Mr Decent Kim, PharmswellBio Co opening production facility - We should expect news relating to this new relationship soon as AFC have kept this quiet for a long time!

SP could move very quickly if more news comes out next week or very soon.

AFC Energy - UK Fuel Cell Company About To Take The World By Storm.

AFC Energy have what no other fuel cell company has; a cheap fuel cell for huge industrial power, one that has a very low CAPEX and TCO, so low that they are going to supply the fuel cells for free and just charge for the electricity generated. They have large sources of Hydrogen direct from industry plus several other markets. They will be competing directly with the big names you might have heard of (Ballard, Hydrogenics, FuelCell Energy, Bloom, etc) but with the costs at 1/10 of their competitors and operational costs of only £3.5m per annum (vs the other big names burning $40m - $100m a year) that they will be profitable very quickly.

Currently the fuel cells are nearly at the end of the final test period at Akzo Nobel in Germany prior to going commercial, once this is complete (in the next few weeks) then we will see the first 1MW systems going out.

Now is the time IMVHO to get into this stock, before the sales start (expect to see sales start this year) and the price goes through the roof (because it will be 99.99% de-risked then).

They have enough cash to last to around the end of 2013 so there is no risk of dilution before sales start flying in.
