This from ACAL{ ACL} interim statement

With two thirds of the business being outside the UK, the Group is subject to the translation impact of the declining value of the Euro. In the first quarter, the Euro weakened 9% relative to sterling compared with the average rate for the first quarter of last year resulting in a 6% impact on both reported sales and earnings.

AMS can't help that. somebody practicing program trading , I have seen it before, it is not harmful, That is the least of the problems with AMS.

In USA massive diversion from Medicare funds into insurer premiums = Less funds to buy medicine and with domino effect might hurt . That on top of a broken Euro has trashed what this company used to be about. I used to rate it a widows and orphans stock on AIM. Don and Penny are smart, but really think they are very smart, and have thus demonstrated they ain't smart.

Organic growth, R&D and selective launches into niche markets, brilliant blue chip distributors, Marvellous reputation, thrown away for impatience and greed.
One misstep too many. I reckon they ought to strip Rebosa for what they can get PDQ and revert to the tried and tested model, while looking to sell quick to J&J before they p*ss up some more velue down the drain.DYOR

Does anyone have any idea why the pattern of sells is as it is. Tiny amounts going through almost every minute. I have never seen anything like this with other companies and am wondering exactly what is going on. I used to rate AMS very highly but this latest pantomime is making me doubt the company and its future.

2011 is pre-merger and a long way behind.

They obviously did not factor in the sick Euro, because they were too bloody keen to do the merger, so they may not have analysed the risks adequately or correctly. and the depressed economy in europe leading to austerity, enforced spending cuts, destocking, etc.. You can only hope now. but do not expect miracles

For all our sakes I hope USA is doing super well; I am bothered that J&J are not exactly stressing with such a great competing product, as liquiband ,May mean they are laid back, doubtful, they leapfrogged our advantage, we do not have as much of an edge as we were led to believe, or they regard the merged rebosa as a poison pill.

The following statement is taken from the result March this year, if as stated in the statement should be no problems:-

"2011 was another year of strong revenue and profit growth for AMS. There were outstanding performances from both ActivHeal(R) and foam, and we are delighted with the progress we have made with LiquiBand(R) in the US after only two years. The Group has, of course, been transformed by the recent acquisition of RESORBA which we expect to add significant value, not just financially but also strategically. Prospects for 2012 look good and we look forward to the future with considerable optimism."

we are sadly past all sorts of things. Board are as nervous as ever, which has been their hallmark, scared to give results too soon to be sure they gauge the outlook right for 2nd half . Need a decent set of figures and trends to avoid a drift down in punishing markets. The dividend should help prop them a bit.

Also nice if Investec stopped taking the p*ss and the Board had balls to put them straight. Don seems scared to take a tough line with anyone.

But for the record, you'll see the importance of breaking up through 67.

Your post makes no sense. aren't I more likely to need counselling if AMS does spectacularly well? I am sorry for a friend who has more than I did, but he is a big boy. In anycase, by hook or crook this will come right sooner or later. I once told Evans, that in my then position advising a big private house, I used to say to the boss I told you so, and would hate doing so. Told Don that over the phone and that I would hate telling him so. Well, I am sorry to say :-Don, I told you so.

Let's all hope, really hope, that either AMS does spectacularly well very soon, or norbus gets some counselling.

I do hope so, really. I had such faith in AMS, like you would not believe. In meeting with Evans, Meredith , Taverner and Freer, May 2 years ago, I told them my views that I believed AMS able to grow organically to £500m Mcap, easily. They appeared astonished, till Evans confirmed that how I saw things was on. It is that path including strengthening the board then that was mocked and rejected , I believe for personal selfish reasons with the result you see.

"MY share" as you call it, is about to stand up and deliver beyond what it has done so far, or has been imagined possible for a British Company to do. Board have done Brilliantly with talented leadership of an inspired passionate ceo then the share price will at long last start to show its paces in line with where it really is

I understands that many utterances on this and any board are vents of anger or frustration. What I was pointing out was the lack of consistency re the venting of such anger or frustration in that if any one addressed ' your share' in the way you had recently spoken re this one , you would have cut them off at the balls without pain killers.
Peace shall reign, even if you have no faith in our current rulers and recently Ams have seen to have found support so your lat 110k may well be a good stand by while serious news is waited elsewhere.
