Worth spending 8 minutes listening Richard Spinks from a week ago talking about Newfoundland and his move to focus there.
proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/stocktube/10768/canada-forestry-opportunity-one-of-the-biggest-active-energys-spinks-has-ever-seen-10768.html

It does seem clear from that that the removal of certain responsibilities (waterways and animals?) may well deliver a more cost effective opportunity for them. He is clear that it is not the government who gave rise to the issue and that both key parties are committed to resolving it.

He also makes clear that they are here to produce product and to do it profitably. He then starts to put a timescale on it, hesitates and says "soon enough". Of course, we all know what followed a week later (yesterday's RNS)

Circumstantial, anecdotal in a way - but for me that is a pretty clear suggestion that the deal announced yesterday is seen, without any further deals, to provide a clear avenue to profitable production of Coalswitch. DrM's numbers illustrate that.

Add in Newfoundland, Poland, Peat Switch etc on top of that.

It is tough in markets like these to remain patient sometimes - but I continue to believe that rewards both financially and environmentally will be worth it.

Not intended as advice. DYOR.

I think you are only saying that because your cash is elsewhere Costax...

You really should revisit why you originally invested here. The position has continued to strengthen and the reach of the technology broaden.

And to share something from that post DrM,

This is a slide from a previous presentation. If you can make it out, it basically shows that when we sell a tonne of CoalSwitch for $180, we make at least $80.

So a 5 tonne/hour plant at max capacity makes 5x24x365 tonnes a year = 43,800 tonnes
43,800 x $80 = $3.5mill profit a year. Assume it runs at 85% capacity thats still $3mill.

We will have a 5 tonne/hour plant installed in a matter of weeks producing $3mill profit a year. THEREFORE WE HAVE POSITIVE CASHFLOW AND NO PLACEMENT NEEDED. That deserves an mcap of more than the £20mill we started the day on its own!

Now how does this look as the 100 tonnes/hr plan progresses...

5 tonnes/hr = $3million profit

25 tonnes/hr = $15mill profit

50 tonnes/hr = $30mill profit

100 tonnes/hr = $60mill profit

Along with a reminder from the RNS today.

"- Initial CoalSwitch(TM) plant to be installed at GRP's existing power plant facilities at Lumberton, North Carolina, before the end of 2018, followed by the two additional plants in Georgia over 36 months

-- The JV intends to install up to 100 tonnes per hour of CoalSwitch(TM) production facilities
-- AEG is currently negotiating off take agreements for the sales of both CoalSwitch(TM) and biomass sourced from existing GRP facilities

Joint Venture - Active Energy Renewable Power LLC

Active Energy Renewable Power LLC has been incorporated in North Carolina for the purposes of the JV and is owned equally between the Group and GRP. The JV will install CoalSwitch(TM) manufacturing facilities at each of GRP's biomass-to- energy power plant sites in North Carolina and Georgia.

The first installation will be at Lumberton in North Carolina. The plant will utilise some existing facilities and equipment currently owned by AEG at its site in Utah. The intention is to commence work immediately with the aim to have commercial production facilities installed by the end of Q4 2018. The installation will be assisted by the use of GRP's existing steam and drying capacity at its power plants. In addition, the JV will be able to take advantage of GRP's existing infrastructure for feedstock procurement. The JV intends to double the production of CoalSwitch(TM) at this facility to 10 tonnes per hour during H1 2019.

Following the initial installation of this CoalSwitch(TM) plant, the JV intends to build two additional CoalSwitch(TM) facilities at each of GRP's other biomass-to-energy power plant locations in Carnesville, Georgia and Colbert, Georgia. Each of these plants are currently under construction and are targeted to be commissioned by mid-2019 and the JV intends to install 25 tonne per hour CoalSwitch(TM) facilities at each site in the coming 36 months. The JV aims to expand the Company's CoalSwitch(TM) production capacity up to 100 tonnes per hour in the region, dependent on feedstock availability and market opportunity."

Wow.

Off to make a mug of tea and toast and digest all of that with a warm smile.

I love the way they do joined up thinking to provide benefits while solving issues related to the clean up of problem waste. How long until we get an announcing using cattle waste in the US in the same way?

With this under the belt it is perhaps no surprise that Richard felt free to head to Canada and concentrate on procuring the forestry end. It is not difficult to see how this announcement is just one in a potentially very long line of dominoes.

DYOR.

I would guess streamlining so instead of managing the forest, wildlife and waterways, just managing the trees. So it should be the same proposal with that taken out, maybe at their request so no further DD and a rubber stamp?

Garth,

Get well mate..it is going around

To me looks like relinquishing...and it means further delays to revise the application...reason I sold out for now

Delays eats into finances too....no timelines given

Suffering with a head cold.

Any views on whether this is a sharpening of focus on one element of the previous submission, OR a relinquishing of other elements of the proposal? And if a relinquishment, then of what elements?

"Active Energy is now amending its application to focus exclusively on the forestry opportunities and the development of one or more dedicated CoalSwitch(TM) plants for the Districts 17 and 18.

Cant get my head sharp enough this morning...
